33. A major American city was left to die because it didn't vote the "correct" way.
Thousands of people were killed, billions of dollars in property was lost, tens of thousands of people were made homeless.

Bush deserves blame, not praise.

I can;t help but think if they were white, in, say Chappaqua, they'd have been helped before they died of dehydration...What a complete disgrace.

Imagine hillary standing on those two bodies to curry a little favor.....

Why is she "appreciating" or "thanking" or "praising" him for ANYTHING? As a US Senator she should be leading the charge to chain that little fucker up in a little iron box, not offering her admiration to him.

6. You all make a big deal out of the stupidest shit. She was clearly saying that here you had a case
of two former Presidents coming together for the common good.

What's wrong with that?

Are we at a point now where its unacceptable for a former Democratic President to work with a former Republican one?

They came together to raise money for people affected by Katrina.

THE HORROR!

Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 07:57 PM by Mobius
The rescue effort of the Katrina victims was pitiful, compared to what could have been done.
What about Bush's lack of effort?
That is what people are outraged about here.
It isn't the bipartisan aspect of it at all.
It's the fact that she said she appreciated what he did for Katrina victims, and he didn't do much until everyone was dead already, just about.
It has to be one of the biggest failures in relief effort ever.

And she has failed to do much of anything since she has been running openly, hell, if GWB handed out water and ice after the florida storms when he was running.

Her chair of the environmental/toxic health subcommittee gives her the forum to do what is right, yet she had done nothing.

95. Because the Bush/Clinton team was the team that allegedly
raised money to help Katina victims as well as the tsunami, like folks think that Katrina is just NOLA, some confuse natural disasters and truly have trouble understanding what was done differently for the tsunami victims than what was done for the katrina/rita victims.

But keep kicking it and don't accept my challenge, makes no difference to me, except that I know you have no way to respond to my challenge.

127. NO.
If you have seen Terminator II, that is not how you deal with these things. The pieces will eventually reassemble.

GDP Needs to be split into about a hundred pieces and put into Tupperware containers. Send each piece of Tupperware to one of 100 equidistant addresses. Hire grave diggers to bury them 10 feet below the surface.

I will then send invitations out so we can dance on one of the conveniently located GDP graves.

138. Wow, I checked out your blog...
Did you actually write this?

I am really getting tired of this constant president bashing that I’ve been seeing lately. Sure the economy is down and the war is dragging on, but some things are worth fighting for. If you want to blame somebody, blame the dumocrats that control congress. What really annoys me are people like Colbert, Stewart, and the late night shows who are ripping on the President in some vague attempt for humor. How dare anyone make fun of Bush after all he’s been through.

I hope you meant that to be satire because I sure laughed my ass off when I read that.

Come on, you can not tell me this is not satire...

What Charlton Heston was to Moses, Timothy Bottoms is to Bush. He’s on top of things and in charge. In one scene during discussions about Afghanistan, Bush even says, “Ah, Massoud! He’s the leader of the Northern Alliance!” Even if you love the guy, you have to admit this is pushing it. And Rove was there so you know it happenned that way. Bush was on top of things like white on rice–not that he was on Condi.

163. You know what I find offensive?
A supposedly DEMOCRATIC candidate for the the DEMOCRATIC party's Presidential nomination saying in any serious way "I really appreciate President Bush." Better to say nothing at all than to sing the praises of one of the people must responsible for America's decline.

166. Did you?
"You know, I really appreciated President Bush after the tsunami struck, asking his father and my husband to represent the United States and our concern for the people who have been devastated."

"I REALLY APPRECIATED PRESIDENT BUSH!" right in the transcript. Is the transcript wrong?

167. Did you read what you cut & paste?
If so, what in the hell is wrong with that.

It was extremely limited praise for President Pretzel saying that this shit was out of his league.

162. Exactly.
The OP very graciously admitted he was wrong about this, though.

No big deal.

It won't happen again, right? :eyes:

159. I agree with her. President Bush needs to bring in all the help he can get, incompetent as he is.

She didn't say it. The OP was mistaken.
