Well, folks, just as I thought, the momentum has shifted once again clearly in favor of Hillary
and the complexion of this campaign has turned on a dime.

Like I said last week, you could just feel it coming. It was in the air. Even animals seemed to sense that a big change was about to take place with how they were acting. Then it happened. It was bound to happen anyway, but there's always a catalyst that sparks the change. In this case, that catalyst turned out to be Barack's slip-up with how he worded a sentence. I'm sure it was inadvertent, but that's all it took to turn this thing around in Hillary's favor for good.

Make no mistake...when you go up against the Goddess of Peace, you need to run a flawless campaign or you won't stand a chance. One little blunder and it's all over, as we all just witnessed here with what happened in recent days. Oh well, Barack gave it his best shot, and he's got nothing to be ashamed of. He's still young, and the best part about him running again in the future is that he won't have to go up against such a formidable opponent as one of the Clintons, unless Chelsea decides to run in 2016, although I think she'll probably wait a little longer than that.

Momentum. There is nothing like it. :smoke:

Hillary Clinton is an amatuer campaigner....at best.

All hype. No substance. Zero charisma.

Hillary's problem is that she is one of the most condescending people on the planet.

72. No, momentum means voters give her wins large enough to make a case for nomination
That means, she has to win 65% of the vote from here on out to eliminate the delegate advantage.

Remember the delegate advantage? It's the best argument for the nomination, whoever has the most at the end makes the best case to win. If the voters give her momentum, that's what they'll have to give her in states like PA, North Carolina, Indiana, Oregon: sixty five percent of the vote.

At least, if you care about making it look legitimate.
Good luck.

It's kind of like, wow, we were never prepared for this thing to change so quickly, all because of a change in momentum. Then, *wham*, something happens, and all of a sudden the other side starts riding the wave like what Hillary is doing now. Who'd of thought it only a week ago?

51. She's the only 2008 candidate who pledged to end the war upon taking the oath
so it's only fitting that she is the Goddess of Peace. It's not only that, however, but her general attitude towards peace. Despite how she's portrayed here sometimes, she is truly a peaceful person, and anyone who knows about her knows that war is the last option in her book.

Anyway, this momentum thing is worth discussing, don't you think? It's one of those intangibles that's just hard to put your finger on sometimes.

58. As far as I could tell neither of them actually promised to end it
Jeremy Scahill had a decent interview in a number of places on the subject and he wasn't too kind to either of them, one or the other might have changed views since but neither wanted us actually out as of then.

http://www.democracynow.org/2008/2/28/jeremy_scahill_despite_anti_war_rhetoric

That's not any part of a deciding factor in my vote anyway, I didn't like either for most of the same reasons until the campaign started. I sure like the way he acts under pressure better than her though, they are going to spend a number of years under pressure and she hasn't sold herself well in this campaign. In policy and before that the differences between them seemed both minor and in areas that aren't my prime concern. Neither talked much about the drug war, that was Gravel and Kucinich to a point, or the poor and corporate control, that was Edwards. My policies didn't make the cut.

On the goddess of peace bit though, the arguments for or against her qualifying for the role aside, it does sound a bit... how to put it well... devoted. She'd probably do better with intelligent realists selling her policies and qualities than with a starry eyed fan club, or with anything that might give that impression.

Just a thought. Peace.

61. looks like the Goddess put her foot in her mouth again on CNN tonight
with her Gore remark. Of course, Obama got it right that Gore won the election. Yep, the momentum is shifting again. But then again when you run a crappy campaign like the Goddess has you got to expect that any advance she makes is only temporary because Obama is the real thing.

67. Momentum.

I think your definition of momentum and mine must be way different. Also, she had to break the "bitter" story much quicker than she wanted to - and 5 hours later Obama had a response. Perhaps that wasn't enough; the next day he had an apology. It'll blow over before the primary.

73. Forget the past. Who can get us out of Iraq
without abandoning the Iraqi people and leaving them with the total chaos we have created?

79. How can that be?
Isn't Hillary Clinton's nomination-snatching victory in Puerto Rico less than two months away?

To be filed along with the 23 other threads in the same vein that you have launched during the course of Hillary's now inevitably failed campaign.
