1. Funny. I was told it was a one day story on Friday. Then I heard that it would
be over Sunday night and Obama's Annie Oakley punch would take it off the radar for good.

4. This week will be hilarious at DU
This will really take off starting today, he will lose ground and then he will lose the debate that will be held in a couple of days. The denial, panic, and bitterness from Obamanation will be a treat--especially since they convinced themselves he was inevitable! :headbang:

84. Listen, I'm just as upset at Obama mocking the Former First Lady
who was the face of this country for 8 years. Who does Obama think he is mocking and degrading Sen Clinton, when SHE represented our country for eight years throughout the World? Obama is in effect mocking America and all the Americans she represented during her tenure in the White House!

DUMP the DIRTBAG!

New polling data released this morning shows that 56% of voters nationwide disagree with Obama’s controversial comment that people in small towns “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

29. Sadly, many Hillary supporters are corrupt as she is. Otherwise...
...they would be speaking out about this, and saying it is wrong.

We truly are a one-political party now, an oligarchy run by the elites, with one party of those who have no ethics, who will sit by silently while this is done, and then there is the rest of us.

The Hillary supporters who are not speaking out on this, remember what Sun Tzu said: "When you become like your enemy, your enemy has won."

In the meantime, we'll take the +3 newspaper endorsements (2 were PA - didn't they get the memo to stay on message?) and +2 Superdelegates Obama picked up this weekend.

Bring on the PA debate! Hillary, get yer gunz. Here comes NAFTA, Colombia, Mark Penn and your "elitist" projection.

14. Doesn't it seem like this was planned? Was Fowler a plant?
Who paid her to write that crap!

Here is a post I made earlier on this:

Personally I think this Obama 'bitter" comment fiasco was all planned out. I think the Fowler person who blogged about this incident was following him and taping him so any little thing he said that they could latch onto could be used against him. After all think about it - The writer of the "bitter" comment was supposed to be an Obama supporter. If anyone was a supporter of any candidate why would they tape and remark about a private fund raiser and then try to make it such a big issue when everyone that is a true supporter knows that Obama is dedicated to the little guy and was explaining wedge issues that can come into their thinking when it comes to the government. I know people who haven't voted in years because of this and they are hard to reach! So I hope that KO will take a good look at Ms. Fowler and find out what was up with this since she wrote some very demeaning things before about Obama per her Huffington Post bio and then tried to say she was for him!!!!

and this about the Daily Kos site that has a lot of links that say her husband gave 25K to HRC and more:

given how Hillary's smear backfired. The others are either wingnuts (Hot Air?) or Hillary shills (Nutter) spouting off.

It's a flashy OP, but it doesn't prove the smear is working against Obama. Hillary is toast.

28. And the media's love affair with itself continues
From the USA Today story: "One way to measure whether a controversy is getting much attention and therefore will affect voters' thinking, of course, is to look at the front pages of local newspapers." Another way is to talk to actual people, but who the hell cares what they think?

40. You can't say "the media" is behind this, collectively.
As a newspaper reporter/editor, I know that at the local level those decisions are made there. And who cares? The people who read the paper care. And they are PEOPLE. USA Today is a different story. Those decisions are made by an editiorial board in a city somewhere, far far away from the hometowns. But the Pennsylvania papers we are looking at did their own reporting.
Think again.

To the OP poster: Thanks for this-- great to see what local papers in PA are doing.

Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 08:37 AM by high density
The media are the ones buying the polls showing Bush at a 20% approval rating and consumer sentiment back in early 1980s territory.

The media needs to realize that we do not need them to be insulted on our behalf, even if the Clinton and/or McCain camps say otherwise. They're always going overboard on their collective decision to play moral authority or whatever in our political races.

59. OP thanks for posting the current news. They seem to have exposed SNOBama
for his empty suit rhetoric, a politician that will do anything to win. A politician that chooses to hob-nob with the rich and look down on the common man. :yourock:

55. Slow news day... eh?
Let's see... thousands starving in Darfur,
universal protest against China olympics over Tibet and human rights,
the US economy tanks further down the toilet,
and that damn war coninutes to fester...

just a few lowlights,
but we gotta hammer and yammer on
something that means nothings to the wider world..

Because the MSM considers us all stupid...
and needs to tell us what to think.

To quote my favorite Wicked Witch:
"What a world, what a world..."

60. "56% of voters nationwide disagree with Obama’s controversial comment" RAS:

New polling data released this morning shows that 56% of voters nationwide disagree with Obama’s controversial comment that people in small towns “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

104. Of course you, like Hillary love to cherry pick what is really said...

and distort it to your own ends -
That poll goes on to say:

"The data also suggests that the Obama campaign was shrewd to try and focus attention on the portion of the comments about people being bitter. Most Americans agree with Obama’s statement that “People are fed up. They're angry and they're frustrated and they're bitter, and they want to see a change in Washington.” Following the initial weekend furor over the remarks, Rasmussen Markets data still gives Obama an 82.3 % chance of winning the Democratic nomination."
