WTF? Hillary supporters protest outside Obama Headquarters
There's a illegal war being waged that is destroying our country, our jobs are flying out of the country, people are struggling to survive because of the high price of gas and food, corporate corruption is rampant, 47 million Americans cannot afford health care, the environment is being destroyed ...

and THIS is what Hillary supporters are so OUTRAGED about that they take to the streets in protest?

With signs of "I'm not bitter" posted near Obama's headquarters, many protesters said they were offended by his comment.

"(We're) just drawing attention to the fact that we are extremely offended by his remarks -- his characterization of Pennsylvania," Joyce Posel said.

As the group of Clinton supporters protested in the rain, an Obama backer said she felt compelled to do the same.

Sonjula Allen said Obama's words were taken out of context.

1. The last gasp of desperate fanatics
At least, I hope this is the last gasp. Mutual antagonism between both candidates' adherents is so high, I half expect a religious war to break out any day now.

More and more, I grow convinced that Kucinich is and remains the only right choice.

Seriously, "I'm not bitter"?

Then vote for McCain, morons. If you're so happy, a third Bush term is just what the doctor ordered.

6. This is the personification of exactly what Obama was talking about
Instead of taking issue with the things that are directly related to their livelihood they are worried about being called bitter? I wonder if these asses put up a sign when the steel mills closed or when Walmart came to town and ran out all of the small businesses.

Clinging to sound bites instead of beliefs. They may as well pick up a gun and bible on the way to the picket line.

Silly season has officially started. And this is exactly where Clinton wanted her supporters. Trapped in a cove of uncertainty and bewilderment about what the real issue is in this election.

Why not talk about gay marriage too so that we can totally be distracted from the war, gas prices and jobs?

87. Come on.
This IS directly related to their livelihood. Do you live here?

We small town Pennsylvanians BELIEVE there's a better tomorrow.

We BELIEVE we have a decent life today. Could it be better? Yes. Could the war be over? We wish. Could steel still be made in Bethlehem, PA - the city that built America? Yes, if it hadn't been sent overseas.

We are NOT bitter. We have a lot of HOPE for the future. You are as bad as the elitists calling the small town people bitter.

How dare you call them asses for taking a stand in the political process. How dare you.

92. he dared because he's right
in that if those Hillary supporters protesting in front of Obama actually were as hopeful and optimistic as you proclaim and not plants from her campaign, they wouldn't be lashing out over verbal nonsense that has absolutely ZERO impact on improving their chance at achieving their goals but instead pro-actively organizing to put forward a political coalition to help them achieve their desires.

98. Hillary would NEVER use plants.
Oh wait...
http://backtalkeastdallas.typepad.com/back_talk/2008/02/southern-fried.html

I stopped at the intersection of Lovers Lane and Greenville this afternoon, and immediately noticed people standing on each corner (and on a couple of the medians) holding Hillary Clinton signs. Another thing immediately apparent, especially because of the race and gender issues in this presidential election, was that each person holding a sign was black.

I rolled down the window to ask one of the men what group the sign-holders belonged to, and he told me Southern Fried Marketing. I asked if they supported Hillary Clinton for president, and he replied: "Paid for."

It struck me as interesting, and I wondered why the Clinton campaign had chosen that intersection as opposed to others I had driven through (though I guess there could have been Hillary signs all over Dallas today). I don't know how long they were there because a couple of hours later when I drove through again, construction crews were tearing up the left turn lanes from Greenville onto Lovers, with no sign holders in sight. I'll be glad when those new double left turn lanes and right-hand turn lanes are finished.

108. I didn't say that
They ALL do it. ALL of them - Hillary, Obama, McCain, Bush, you name the politician - if they have money, they do it.

But I seriously believe those 4 people in Pittsburgh were NOT plants.

I wish someone would pay me to rally for my candidate. Unfortunately, I've got to make my money the old fashioned way.

Speaking of which, back to work.

Go knock on doors for your candidate, assholes.

Several people I've talked to were undecided until we stopped by. They're now Obama supporters. Why? We're the ones who came to their doors and asked for their votes. They don't expect to see Clinton volunteers in their neighborhoods. And they won't.

If these people stayed out there for 3 hours, that's around 500 doors the 4 of them could've knocked on. That's 500 doors Obama volunteers WERE knocking on.

They do their candidate no favors with their ridiculous faux-rage.

and degrade people for protesting there candidate yet anyone else would be acceptable. Personally I'm quite happy people, regardless who they are or whom they are protesting are willing to go out of there way to have there voice heard. When moveon was in NY last month I thought it was great even though they endorsed SNOBama. People expressing there views is what america is about. :yourock:

Pennsylvanians don't take kindly to being called the things SNOBama called them a week ago in San Francisco and they aren't gonna take it. Thought I'd enlighten you why they are protesting.

61. There's nothing wrong with this

Obama called small-town PA people bitter. These people might be from Bethlehem, a city that's suffered quite a bit since the Steel left town in favor of cheap foreign steel...even though the pic was in a Pittsburgh paper.

There's nothing wrong with them showing up to say they are not bitter.

Hey, politics at work. It goes both ways. Or are we only allowed to talk about the "important issues" now? This is an important issue for many of us.

This hits home for me. I am small town PA and I am far from bitter, no matter what you all might think due to my political affiliations.

Edited to say "might be" and add references to Pittsburgh.

protesting a Democratic Senator. They know damn well what Obama said..this is just Piss poor politicking typical of the Clinton Campaign. Speaking of 'it going both ways'...this does not bode well for Hillary's future events. I wonder if these people were concerned with her vote on the Iraq War. Did they protest that?

Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 10:18 AM by shadowknows69
But Jesus Christ on a pogo stick what does it take to get people in the streets for important issues? That's what burns me the most. That's what's wrong with this country and exactly what Obama was trying to say. That when people are downtrodden they will cling to any little issue or distraction that keeps the real truth, that we are slaves to a corpotacracy, hidden under patriotic and bureaucratic rhetoric.

It means that it was organized state wide...which means the Clinton campaign was involved.

It was the gift that kept on giving all weekend. Same when we went canvassing. To put it mildly, people were not amused.

Someone even said jokingly that maybe we should have sent the Obama office a thank you note.

Holy Cow! What a movement. They are marching in millions. This can only be described as some sort of political quake, if you will. What a difference a day makes. Yesterday Obama had a tremendous amount of momentum. What happened? They are gathering the masses for an all new front to take the Dem. nomination. Do they have a helicopter up yet with a wide angle lens so we can see the magnitude of the masses? This is HUGH!!!1!!! HUGH!!!1!!! I tell ya HUGH!!1!!!!

:sarcasm: :sarcasm:

I'm sorry, I couldn't let that one go.

This silliness is what Freeps do..Remember how they stalked whatshisname the CA congressman whose girlfriend Chandra was killed in DC?? They camped out in front of his house and office and literally ran him out of office (not that he would have won re-election anyway)..

They do this sort of thing all the time..

I guess their candidate is so unpopular that they feel the need to go over the edge to show thier cultish devotion to her by harassing people who work for the other candidate..

Next thing you know, they'll be holding up jars with fetuses in them..(oh wait..that's another group of loonies)..
