Al Gore, John Kerry, found under Hillary campaign bus |
|
Having watched politics as long as I have, I have to wonder if Hillary's comments about Al Gore and John Kerry seeming "out of touch" and therefore elitist were not (surprise) calculated.
Here are some thoughts on why she is choosing at this point to trot out this line of attack against Obama, in particular with regards to Al Gore.
1) She sees an opening in terms of getting a nice bump in popular vote out of Pennsylvania. 2) The more she can get people talking about Al Gore winning the popular vote, the more she can try to use that as an argument -- in the very long shot that she somehow pulls out the popular vote and Obama wins the delegate count. 3) She is clearly trying to pull the currently sidelined Al Gore into the fray and taint him as biased against her by making provocative statements about him -- and John Kerry. This allows her to moan to the press about how biased Al Gore is against her.
This is all about the convention folks, she still aims to take us all the way there. Don't be surprised if you find yourself under her campaign bus in the near future.

I've tried to stay away from all this for this very reason: I WILL vote for the Democrat |
|
and I don't want to have to hold my nose to do it. But I have to say, I'm really starting to dislike this woman.

1. Kerry endorsed Obama months ago .... |
|
and Gore hasn't endorsed her, despite the fact that he was VP when she was First Lady. Why the hell wouldn't she through them under the bus? Give me a break!

you do not throw former presidential nominees and leaders of your own party under the bus. Also, because they do not deserve it.

2. Did she name names when she made that comment? |
|
I don't recall hearing them (but wasn't paying close attention).
If not, I'm guessing a lot of people didn't connect the dots (as they say) -- didn't give it much thought.
WE got it, but did the non-wonks?

a LOT of people won't even think about it -- or about whom she was referring.

3. The Dems need to rise up and slap her down |
|
She is out of control and extremely destructive. Time for the SDs to put an end to her antics.

20. He won the popular vote... |
|
He did not lose the election... it was decided by the supreme court.
She said he lost, and tied that loss to a specific issue. She threw him under the bus.
vroom vroom.
