How Many Hillary Supporters Are Left Here?
I know there aren't many, but I know I'm not a "Lone Ranger," so to speak. Thank you in advance for your honest answers.
I'll count myself as Hillary Clinton supporter #1.

38. Don't agree. We need to hear all voices to make informed decisions....
...We don't want to get inbred into a group of mirrors echoing our own arguments. That would ultimately weaken us as a group.

227. Not strange at all. Inbred boards are the worst. It's differing opinions that keep...
...a messaige board vibrant and dynamic. Also, just because I don't agree with someone's opinion doesn't mean I don't want to hear them speak about it. Finally, Democrats include a wide variety of people and opinions. Even when I read someone being a real asshat, I remind myself, "Yes, but he/she's OUR asshat and we have to pay attention to what he is saying."

It comes from the expression, "Let's bury the hatchet ... in your back." At least that's the way I read it, since I've never seen one reconciliatory-seeking response from that poster.

it will be much better for with John "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" McCain as your president. It won't be that great for me because I'm still at an age where if a draft happened I would be forced to enlist.

So yes, stick by your guns. Throw the entire government out with the kitchen sink. More people must die before things get better!

How well did that mentality work out in 2000? I forget. Were you part of the crowd that said Al Gore was exactly the same as Bush? How right you all were.

127. I haven't gone to the right. I just don't support your candidate.
Most of us are just very tired of the treatment handed out by most Obama supporters. I do not post as often, but I read a lot. I love healthy discussions where posters actually listen to other posters and do not insult and denigrate. Many of us are still here, but we talk to each other on another board. Doesn't stop us from waiting and hoping for a healthier atmosphere after the primaries are over.

Glad to see Skinner. Everyone's always nicer when Skinner is here. Love ya, Top Dog!

In third grade when a kid is told not to do something, they say "Johnny did it too," which is what the poster you responded to was doing. There was nothing of that in my post you cited here. That particular post was my observation on why so many Hillary campers are silent right now.

48. Neither am I... and I don't have a candidate in this race...
I will vote for whomever gets the nomination.

I think I have a pretty clear view of the situation. All you have to do is go the the GD : P section and count the Hillary hating threads and then count the Obama hating threads. It speaks for itself.

155. Criticism isn't necessarily hating.
And Obama's support is much greater than Hillary's in this forum; it's no surprise that there are more negative posts directed against a candidate most of the people here do not support. If there were more Clinton supporters here, the situation would be reversed. There aren't, so it isn't.

169. I don't confuse hate and criticism
I know the difference between the two. I know of quite a few Hillary supporters who just plain don't post on DU anymore because of getting hated on for voicing an opinion. It's very hard to know how many of each are still here, or were here in the beginning.

If the Obama supporters are in the majority, why don't they stfu and leave the Hillary folks alone?

And it's naïve to expect that there won't be heated exchanges and criticisms in a primary season as contentious as this one.

96. I would like to hear from Hillary supporters
I am not trying to be rude and join a thread where I am not welcome. I am new to DU and perhaps do not know the "rules". I guess I am a "newbie" ?
Yet, I am sincere in my disappointment with Hillary. I have written that she was a role model of mine, and in the past I defended her.
In watching her last night during the compassion forum, I thought to myself "is it that she truly believes that Obama is elitist and out of touch" ?

I felt sad and very disappointed that someone I admired, seemed like she was willing to go negative and say and do whatever it takes, even joining with McBush by using the same rhetoric, to win.

Last night in watching her, and at times I thought she did really well, I thought maybe she really believes this and is not just "doing whatever it takes to win at any cost to the party". I am trying to understand instead of just being in shock and disappointed.
What do you think ? I am trying to understand because she is losing my respect. I am for Obama. I want to still be able to vote, in all good faith, for Hillary if he does not win.

152. IMHO, many of these people are not true Democrats
If they're willing to either sit out in November, or actually vote for McCain simply because their candidate (whether it be Hillary or Obama) doesn't win the nomination, then those people are NOT true Democrats. Rather, they're nothing more than political fanboys.

It honestly scares me to think that McCain could win because a bunch of us simply won't support the other candidate.

it is instructive however to see how many of the Clinton supporters left here have resigned themselves to an Obama victory and are dedicating themselves to not support it, and in some cases to do as much harm as possible.

Hell you can't even give Sen Obama the respect, he has earned and deserves, by using his name. Instead you use initials.

I keep thinking back to that Wright video and the hateful rhethoric that the entire congregation was cheering, stomping, clapping for. You'll never convince ma that was closet behaviour that was hidden whtn obama and michelle were sitting in the pews. For 20 years he listened to that spew.

116. I'm not a Hillary supporter
I was the one Chris Dodd supporter here on DU:D

Nonetheless, I have no problems voting for her if she gets the nomination, and more importantly, I support her supporters for not only being here, but taking abuse that should have gotten many people still posting here banned.

There's very little difference between Obama and Clinton; both are going to govern from the Center-Left, no matter what they (or their supporters) say otherwise.

120. I "support" Hillary, though I'll vote for Obama on April 22 in PA
I think both Sens. Clinton and Obama would make fine presidents. I bear her no grudge for trying to win the nomination. As many have observed, far from being the brutal catastrophe many believe it has been, this Dem primary has been relatively tame. A tough primary can only make Obama stronger as he gets a chance to rehearse the answers to questions that the GOP will raise in November -- except they'll do it in a harder, meaner form.

134. I am not a Hillary supporter per se, as -- let's go to the
videotape concerning my position: "I voted for John Edwards in the California Primary, even after he had dropped out."

And I will be voting for the Democratic nominee, no matter who it is -- despite the shocking number of Obama supporters who say they will not vote for Hillary if she's the nominee.

So, because it's clear that the DUers who voted for Hillary are so heavily outnumbered, and many have left DU because of the bullying, I am sticking up for them.

***Especially in wake of some of the names she was called yesterday:

"Miserable excuse for a human being," "fuck her to hell," "I'm really beginning to hate her," "I absolutely despise this woman," etc., etc.

Seriously.

I've seen a lot of Obama attackers, but I've never seen one coherent post on why we should vote for Hillary. I've seen hundreds of posts on why I should vote against Obama, and why Obama supporters are stupid, naive, zombified, Kool-Aid drinking cultists.

I'm through with voting against people. The next time I vote, I want to vote for someone. If the people here with the Hillary pictures and Hillary logos and Hillary quotes are really Hillary supporters, they'd make a better use of their time by convincing those of us who are undecided that Hillary has something we can vote for.

And, I don't mean support for her that is a backhanded slam at Obama, along the lines of "Well, Hillary is the best because she doesn't eat her boogers like Obama does."

Don't really know why, I just like her. Didn't vote for her in the primary. Didn't vote for Obama either but there is something I like about Hillary. I think she gets a bad rap.

I still think Obama should be the nominee, as I said in this thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4691348

but I think I will always like, and even respect, the former First Lady and the great junior senator from New York.

I am a DEMOCRAT supporting a DEMOCRAT in a DEMOCRATIC primary on a DEMOCRATIC website.

You are a DEMOCRAT supporting a DEMOCRAT in a DEMOCRATIC primary on a DEMOCRATIC website.

We are on the same damn side.

I've worked and supported the Democratic party for a long time, I've marched next to the IVAW in DC with my daughter. For you to claim that I am GOP or Anti-Obama is disgusting and offensive.

Obama is a good Democrat and he will have my support if he wins the nomination. People like you are making it very difficult to imagine working side by side with Obama supporters if he does win.

Supporting your candidate is a good thing. Acting like a jerk to other DUers is not.

218. Another one
I've watched every debate and Hillary stands out as sharpest and most thorough. I had to concede that, even while supporting Edwards throughout '07 and early this year.

I've posted my concerns/knocks regarding Obama but I've got too much going on at home to get involved in the juvenile back and forth barrages of insults. And that's all the exchanges become, if you sample these threads. It's nothing like the DU I knew when an against the grain comment was sure to earn a respectful and thought provoking reply. You can tell what DU has evolved into, simply by the bizarre and unprecedented number of threads touting ignore. How can a community simultaneously tout 90-95% theoretical support level of one candidate, while paranoid to ignore or banish the "other" 5-10%? It's a parody. I honestly have no idea how certain posters are willing to extend a sub thread a dozen replies or more, when no opinions are changed and virtually nothing of substance shows up. Primaries bring out the worst in DU.

233. I'm here occasionally, but not as often as I used to be.
Mostly, I just check LBN and GD.

234. I'm here occaisionally....
But I seldom have much to say anymore. What's the point? If I came and posted 'Have a nice day'.....50 people would jump down my throat, call me a dozen different names and threaten to have me banned.

So I post occaisionally and take myself elsewhere for more in depth discussions of the issues regarding the primaries.

236. They should be driven out
Shunned and silenced.
The very nerve of it. Outrage. Shame.
They are preventing Obama from spreading his "love".

(Does anyone think Bush when BO is quoted as saying things like that?)

237. I'm here, barely
Not around much at all anymore. Why would I be? Clearly, we're not welcome.

240. Take a deep breath Dinger...
This will all be over by the end of the year.

Ummm...can I vote for Hillary twice?

Lessee, we don't yet know who won Texas. Their final delegates won't be chosen until June 7th.

Still lots of people waiting patiently to cast their votes in this primary. The 'hotheads' ought to keep that in mind.

241. Present. At times.

The lunatics are running the asylum so it feels rather voyeuristic to come here, like being a Victorian going to "Bedlam" to mock and laugh at insane people, or like being a rubber-necker at an accident site.

shark jump!
