Did the Clinton Campaign Just Ask for Our Permission to Withdraw?
Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 02:44 PM by Sander
Today I received an email from Hillary's campaign asking, "We want to know what you think -- about the state of the race, our campaign strategy, or your ideas for doing things differently." Seems like a strange request to someone who has never contributed to her campaign. Is she really asking our permission to withdraw? I have taken this as an opportunity to let her campaign know that I think, for the good of our country, she should withdraw right now. I encourage everyone here to do the same.

Here is what I wrote on her website at http://www.hillaryclinton.com/action/ideas/?sc=1774&utm_source=1774&utm_medium=e.

"I was one of your biggest supporters. Your attempt to overhaul the health care system in our country in the 90's was heroic. You also demonstrated leadership and guts in how you handled the attacks and challenges of Bill's Presidency.

However, now, your latest self-destructive campaign tactics and refusal to face the realities of the situation are damaging our chances of getting rid of the Republican thugs who have our country by the throat.

It is time to throw in the towel! Announce you are going to submit to the will of the voters now and throw your support to Barack Obama. It is time to start running against McCain and the right-wing establishment. We cannot do so with your continuing your bitter, divisive and hopeless primary campaign.

Do the right thing. Save your reputation and dignity. Work now to elect Barack Obama as our next President."

2. I wrote a letter basically saying the same thing, but not quite as nice
as yours. Hope he collects his pay upfront before the implosion.

3. Okay done. Here's mine.
Senator Clinton,

In answer to your query. I hate to say it but it is time to withdraw. I wish I could say otherwise, but you and Bill are not fairing well this time round and you are doing serious harm and embarrassment to the Democratic Party. Please, with all grace and speed end your campaign for the Democratic nominee for President.
