If we don't tackle the economic raping of the middle class (and poor) then the GOP continues to frame the debate and win.
The DNC crowd doesn't want to talk economics, because then we will be class warfare elitists.
Well guess what, class warfare elitists named W, Daddy Bush, Reagan, and Gingrich and DeLay and for that matter Rush, Hannity, Boortz, Beck etc are screwing working class Americans all while framing the debate saying that it's Democrats who are.
And we sit back and let it happen.
This issue MUST be tackled.
For those of you playing wingnuts politics in support of Hillary, either learn about these towns -from the small ones that dot the industrial "rust belt" to larger communiities that still haven't recovered from losses in the70's and 80's.
These communities got screwed by right wing policies.
Go to Youngstown. Go the Steubenville/Weirton/Wheeling area of the upper Ohio Valley. Go to Gary Indiana. Johnstown PA.
Learn about what these people lost.
These communities have lost significant portions of their populations and most of the current population is retired.
If don’t grasp what Obama said – yes I know it’s real tough getting past his awkward phrasing – I realize that requires just a little maturity…. But if you can’t do that – if you can’t see how these communities suffered and how frustrated, and yes bitter they are – then the Democrats have truly lost as this is supposed to be who we are fighting for – not running away from.
These are not the only people. These are not the only groups who have suffered. But they are – at least they used to be – part of the Democratic party’s core values. Social Justice Economic Justice.
This is the real world folks. These towns help build America. Then America turned their backs on these towns.

3. No one said it was all about hope |
|
Hope is a big part of it, but it's the Clinton people who want to think that that's the only thing Obama brings.

6. I don't think that Edwards owns poverty advocacy |
|
He was the leader on the issue and I'm grateful to him for it, but I don't think he owns a monopoly on it.

Though I've been an Obama supporter from the beginning, I wish Edwards would have stayed in the race longer. I have a world of respect for him and wish him the best of luck.

5. Good post, but its not "the DNC crowd", its the DLC crowd who ... |
|
....dont want to talk economics, because then we will be class warfare elitists.
They are a bunch of turncoats using a Democratic label to benefit the same elites the Republicans have been pandering to since Reagan first took office.
Any mention of the lower classes getting hurt brings about a reaction from the DLC of class warfare to try and silence debate on the subject, just as the Republicans have done for 28 years.

and about the War that is bleeding us...to deny this will be at our peril. Of course we are bitter and angry. We the people have been ignored!
