I'm bitter.
I'm bitter that my country got sucked into a black hole of a war by Neocons like Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld and Cheney who feel that World Domination is the only foreign policy.

I'm bitter that George W. Bush was appointed boy king by the Supreme Court in 2000 and has since destroyed any resemblence of respect my country may have had around the world.

I'm bitter that the Bush family has received more that 1.5 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia and the media whines when Elton John raises a couple million for a Democratic candidate.

I'm bitter that we have a chance to see the first woman president or the first black president and all we can do is destroy each other.

I'm bitter that I'm paying nearly $3.50 for gas when the executives of companies like Exxon are receiving million dollar quarterly bonuses for making me pay that much.

I'm bitter.

"People don't vote on economic issues because they don't expect anybody is going to help them," Obama told a crowd at a Terre Haute, Ind., high school Friday evening. "So people end up voting on issues like guns and are they going to have the right to bear arms. They vote on issues like gay marriage. They take refuge in their faith and their community, and their family, and the things they can count on. But they don't believe they can count on Washington."

"And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
