America, if you fall for this nonsense, you deserve what you get |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 04:44 PM by lynyrd_skynyrd
If voters once again fall for this media manipulation regarding Obama's words, then the blood is on their hands.
It has been 28 years now that Republicans and DLC Democrats have succeeded in destroying the middle class while keeping the corporate power on top.
It has lead to the deaths of over 4000 troops and over one million innocent civilians within 5 years.
It killed over 3000 innocent people in the span of one day a little over 6 years ago.
It killed thousands a few years ago in a hurricane named Katrina.
It has killed millions of Americans via gun violence, non existent health care, pollution, and starvation.
By now, you'd think Americans have had enough. You'd think Americans have finally woken up. You'd think Americans wouldn't fall for it yet again.
We shall see whether "small town America" is going to once again bite down on the feeding pellet, or whether they finally stand up against the lies. Clinton thinks these typical and despicable tactics are going to work. Will America prove her wrong?
Either you get behind the Democratic nominee -Barack Obama- or you allow John McCain to maintain the status quo for another 4 years. Make your choice. If you make the wrong one, don't cry about it later, because the blood has been on your hands for a long time now, America.
Wash them.

14. That's the number of delegates Obama needs at the Convention to become the nominee. |
|
Any less on the first ballot, and we go to a second ballot, where it's a whole new ballgame. (We could actually end up with Gore.:))

20. At the Convention, there will be a first ballot on the Presidential nomination -- |
|
If no candidate gets a MAJORITY of the delegates, it goes to a second ballot. On the first ballot, pledged delegates are "pledged" and will vote as designated. SuperDs on both sides would be loath to abandon any declarations they have made in support of one candidate.
BUT, on the second ballot, both SuperDs and pledged delegates are completely freed from their previous committments: they may vote for Hillary or Obama or ANY OTHER CANDIDATE. The ballots contine that way through a third ballot or more if necessary until SOMEONE ends up with an overall majority. Like Al Gore.
It really could happen. There are still about 300 SuperDs who have made no committments whatsoever. There are even 18 pledged Edwards delegates who will not be voting for Obama or Hillary on the first ballot. (If somehow Michigan is seated, there will be 55 Michigan "uncommitted" delegates seated, if somehow Florida is seated, Edwards will pick up more delegates.) If Hillary and Obama are close enough, and enough of these SuperDs/"uncommitteds"/Edwards delegates DECLINE to vote for either one of them on the first ballot, neither one of them will achieve a majority. Then everything opens up wide.

Wash them."
Hey, that's a great talking-point! Any way we can contact the Obama campaign? Maybe have them put out an ad with this as the tagline? Could we maybe even work it into Obama's stump speech?

23. I'm leaving this country no matter what happens. |
|
I'm so sick of "our" professional political class. These vile aristocratic enablers are keeping Americans stupid, irrational, and subservient, and I'm sick of seeing it. Machine politics makes me puke, and the democratic party is so tainted by the Clinton machine that it is an abomination. Fuck the DLC, fuck DLC Democrats, and fuck every fucking idiot "working class" loser who votes to keep the foxes running the hen house. You want your house taken by the bank, your kids dead in Iraq, and your job sent to the third world, then just keep letting TV dictate our politics. It's what you deserve and it's what you'll get.

24. We deserved John Edwards but the MSM crucified his campaign and Obama said nothing! Nada! |
|
The MSM hyped Obama like he was God, the Beatles and Elvis Presley rolled into one all last year, while John Edwards was actually talking about solutions for poverty.
Now, when Obama gets caught sucking up to the people with money, catering to their prejudices about poor folks in order to raise some cash, Obama supporters have the nerve to criticize the poor if they do not bow down before the MSM sanctified Obama.
The nerve of some people around here just amazes me. "you deserve what you get" This is Puritan bull shit. This is telling the unemployed and the poor that it is their own fault. This is the worst kind of classism.
I do not think that there is another person writing on DU who makes me feel the need to write as many threads of rebuttal as you do, lynard but I can not let this stand.
Blaming poor folks in America for their own poverty---that is really low.
