More repubs turning...
Hey all,
So I have some good news for you. My girlfriend went to NH with her mom and sister to visit relatives. Her mom is a registered Dem but votes Republican for social and religous reasons. Her relatives are former military and republican. Her mom is a nurse, so I showed her Dean's nursing platform and his record as a doctor. Gradually, after reading mroe about him, she has come to support him and will probably vote for him or Clark in the GE and primary. My gf was watching the news with her relatives and when Bush came on the tv, they started yelling and said "Get him off the screen!!" They are now in the ABB camp! Three more have joined the good guys! By the way, they support Dean the most.

We've had some great news for us recently, let's all keep up the great work!!

Go register voters!
Yaron

9. I'd vote for Rob Van Dam before Bush
A pothead, but my girlfriend thinks he's cute.

It's a better excuse than anything I could dream up about voting for Bush.

12. Bush Bush Baby!
Bush Bush Baby, Bush Bush Baby
All right stop, I'm a compassionate conservative
W is back like a Bush preservative
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Then I spew like a baboon daily and nightly
Did I win the vote? Yo - I don't know
I only took Florida with the help of my bro
To Al Gore I stole the vote like a vandal
Supreme Court homies helped me run the whole scandle.

BAM!, Now I'm a lion not a mouse,
I'm paying off homies helped me buy the Whitehouse
Deadly, they play a neocon melody
Move on Iraq, we Attack! Its a felony
Love it or leave it, the American way
Its all about the oil, This kid don't play
If there's way to profit, Yo, I'll try it
After 9/11 you know I'll justify it.

Bush, Bush Baby, Doubleya Bush, Bush Baby, Doubleya
Bush, Bush Baby, Doubleya Bush, Bush Baby, Doubleya

Yo man - Let's get out of here! Word to my mother!

Bush, Bush Baby, Doubleya Bush, Bush Baby, Doubleya
Bush, Bush Baby, Doubleya Bush, Bush Baby, Doubleya....

7. You need to do a bit of reading
Bush - Tax cut

Dean - Repeal Bush tax cut

I tried to keep it simple. If you start reading, you will find more.

11. Oh, come on, molly!
Yep...Dean would OK the outing of a CIA agent's wife.

Sure, Dean would have lied to the American people about WMDs in Iraq just so he could "git" Saddam.

No doubt Dean would gut the clean air act and give polluters the green light to keep dumping crap into the air, land and waters.

I'm positive Dean would do his best to nominate the most conservative wackos to the courts.

You can bet your ass that Dean would rape the treasury to give trillions of dollars to the ultra rich.

Surely Dean would alienate the entire freakin' world on a regular basis.

and on...and on...and on...

{sarcasm off}

I want what you are smoking.

13. Hi Molly. This post by Stuckinthebush is one of the best answers ever.
PLEASE, I urge you, CONSIDER THIS. Before you start another one of those incindiary arguments trying to poke more holes in the Most Likely to Succeed candidate we've got. PLEASE! THINK OF THE ITEMS ON THIS LIST.

Do you REALLY, TRULY, HONESTLY, DEEP DOWN IN YOUR HEART think Dean would stoop to this crap? Gutting our environmental protections, our worker protections, our privacy protections, our civil liberties, our standing throughout the world (especially all the post-9/11 good will that he summarily SQUANDERED with his arrogance), or out a CIA agent, whose SPECIALTY was our MOST CRITICAL, URGENT, FUNDAMENTAL, BEDROCK, CORNERSTONE NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE - the tracking of WMDs? And for the sake of a personal VENDETTA??????

JEEZ!

I, too, would like some of what you're smoking.

PLEASE try to take a moment out for at least a tiny bit of realistic, fact-based thinking.

15. losing sight of the long-term in the short term never a good strategy.
Anyone who has voted for the republican party for a long period of time, who begins to consider ANY democrat - has beat the bigger battle which is the long-grained habit vote (eg I vote repub because I vote repub). Once that threshold has been broken it become more and more likely that the person will vote for another democratic candidate as well - the first hurdle (making the party shift) is the hardest. Without the discussions in this family, the mother would continue to vote for W out of GOP voting habit. THAT is not worthy of snide derision, but instead worthy of emulation (all of us should work for such conversions). In the end let the primaries play out be it Kerry, Gep, Dean or Clark or other who ends up on top - it is now likely that this vote goes for this candidate rather than W.

Making a snide crack at the person who has helped persuade the conversion, because it doesn't convert all the way to YOUR candidate, misses the big picture of what a conversion means.

14. Great news - more evidence Dean can steal away repubs
And any Democrat who doesn't think it's important to win as many votes as humanly possible needs to enroll themselves in Political Reality 101. Post haste.
