The Guess Who Dedicate a Song To Hillary!
Not Really, but damn, if the shoe fits...

For you Hillary (apologies to the The Guess Who)

She's come undone
She didn't know what she was headed for
And when I found what she was headed for
It was too late

She's come undone
She found a mountain that was far too high
And when she found out she couldn't fly
It was too late

It's too late
She's gone too far
She's lost the sun
She's come undone
She wanted truth but all she told were lies
Came the time to realize
And it was too late

She's come undone
She didn't know what she was headed for
And when I found what she was headed for
Mama, it was too late

It's too late
She's gone too far
She's lost the sun
She's come undone

Too many mountains, and not enough stairs to climb
Too many churches and not enough truth
Too many people and not enough eyes to see
Too many lives to lead and not enough time

It's too late
She's gone too far
She's lost the sun
She's come undone
(Doe-doe-doe-doe-doe doe un doe-doe-doe un doe-doe-doe)
(Doe doe-doe-doe-doe un doe-doe-doe doe-doe-doe)
(Doe doe-doe-doe doe doe-doe-doe doe doe)

<break>

It's too late
She's gone too far
She's lost the sun
She's come undone
She didn't know what she was headed for
And when I found what she was headed for
It was too late

She's come undone
She found a mountain that was far too high
And when she found out she couldn't fly
Mama, it was too late

It's too late
She's gone too far
She's lost the sun
She's come undone
(No no-no-no-no-no no)
(Doe doe doe-doe)

1. The Guess Who - one of my favorite bands
I saw them in concert on my little rural Pennsylvania campus on the first weekend of my Freshman year back in 1970 :-).

4. One of my favorites, also. Do you eve listen to Randy Bachman's terrific show?
It's called Vinyl Tap. It's on Sirius, but we listen to in on CBC (Canadian radio). I strongly recommend it. One of the best two hours you'll spend on a weekend.

10. It's really good and he tells fun stories
My favorite one was where apparently Booker T and the MGs had covered "These Eyes". He said he had to go pick up Burton Cummings somewhere in jail in Chicago and was driving through the south side at 3 or 4 in the morning with Burton passed out in the back seat, and their evening's take in cash in a paper bag after a show one night. He got lost and finally went into a bar to ask for directions. He said he was the only white guy in the place and they all just looked at him like "why are you here" when he asked for directions. But "These Eyes" was playing on the jukebox (the Booker T version) and he told them, "I'm Randy Bachman! I wrote that song!"

He said the bartender asked to see his ID, then went over to the jukebox, unplugged it, pulled the record out, and looked at the songwriter. Then he said, "You know Booker T?" and gave him directions.

All of his stories are like that, he's got hundreds of them.

2. You should apologize to the Guess Who
for changing the words of their song.

For Christ's sake, can people just STOP?

5. Where you said you changed the words?
First, no I didn't (and still don't). Someone already did this last week anyway.

8. In all fairness... those are the original words
I think it stinks to continue the floggings like this, but the words were not changed.

What if HRC gets the nomination? What if she wins big from here on out and gets the nom? How will all these people feel?

If I know anything about Americans, they will vote for the underdog... and Hillary is that underdog, thanks to the Obama supporters.

9. LOL! Yeah, damn all those voters who chose him over her.
That's why she's the underdog. How dare they!

12. No, they are NOT the original words.
It goes, "she wanted truth but all she got was lies".

It's really too bad, take one of my favorite groups and use them unfairly to bash my candidate.

14. Wow... I'll have to Google the lyrics...
They sure seemed right when I sang them in my head just now... strange.

I think the public floggings of Hillary have gone on for far too long. Period.

18. What was the change?
Other than the spelling of "undun?" I admit I only skimmed the post.

19. Ah
"all she told" for "all she got." Common mistake, actually.

Still probably my favorite Guess Who song, up there with "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature" and "Hang On To Your Life."

23. I'm not sure anyone loves them more than I do.
I was going to marry Burton Cummings when I grew up. I, too, went to a concert in the 1970s (later than the other poster did). I was probably the youngest person there, and my mother made me wear a sailor suit dress. Randy Bachman wasn't in the group at that time, and the band (and the rest of the crowd, except for me and my friend Kristi) all looked drugged out. Then I had to call my mother from a pay phone afterwards and wait around in the Civic Center. In retrospect, it all seems so strange.

No time left for you (on my way to better things)
No time left for you (I found myself some wings)
