Whether it matters to anyone or not, I feel it's the polite thing to do, for me to say:
I will not, under any circumstances, ever visit or post in this forum again.

I've been away for a week or so, and even given what it was like here last time I checked in, I was astonished to find that tonight's edition resembles nothing more than a gang of kindergartners flopping around in a cesspool, and flinging that cesspool's contents at one another along with words that match the odor of the cesspool's contents...with about as much a chance of changing anybody's opinions (or doing anything positive for the Democratic Party or its eventual candidate) as the experience of having a cesspool's contents flung into one's face would accomplish.

This forum is NOT anything even vaguely approaching "discussion."

This forum is just pathetic.

I'll continue to believe that DU, in general, is a worthy enterprise populated for the most part by worthy people, and worthy of my continued support.

But THIS forum, and its monomaniacal, destructive denizens?

No. Just fucking no.

I grew up poor, and in a tiny rural farming/logging village, long enough ago that there were no environmental-protection regulations. And our house (like all the others) had a cesspit, down there on the downhill side of the the field where our apple orchard was. (For those of you who don't know that a cesspit is, well, think of a sewage treatment plant without the plant. And without any treatment. Just a gully on the far part of the property where everything from the house drained. And sat there on the surface, open to the air, until it dried out.)

But it took ten years or so before it all dried out enough that it would get dug under, and a new gully dug and the pipes re-routed to the new location. And during that time, you avoided walking anywhere near that corner of the property, or your nose would tell you why you shouldn't have walked near there.

My nose tells me I shouldn't walk near this forum anymore.

I can smell the toxicity from a hundred yards away.

Flame me for this post and watch your flames disappear into The Land Of Posts That Just Waste Your Time, or praise me for this post and accept my appreciation in absentia; I'll NOT be checking back in here to be reading any responses. We kids were farting around near that cesspit when I was about seven and I tripped and fell and one of my hands went down into that muck. It took me about a week of washing to finally get to where I felt that hand was clean from having been in that cesspit.

I'm not about to let my mind feel as horrible from falling into THIS cesspit, as my hand did that day.

3. I agree with you...
I don't speak this way in real life.

I come in here to vent, man. I'm pissed!!!

It's nice to commiserate with others who feel the same.

People are just letting off a bit of steam.

7. Perhaps you should reform your "psychic ignore'" function.
But yeah it has admittedly gotten somewhat funky around here.

Hope you stick around but you do as you please.

Just don't let the suckers get you down.

People are just weary from the longevity of this primary and somewhat overreactive.

It will be over soon.

Peace bro.

9. Well, I read the 1st and last sentences. The rest, I figure, was ego-related stuff.
That's all about you. Keep it about you.
