Obama Would "Immediately Review" Potential Of Crimes In Bush White House
Attytood | April 15, 2008 12:05 AM

Attytood's Will Bunch has a new interview with Barack Obama:

Tonight I had an opportunity to ask Barack Obama a question that is on the minds of many Americans, yet rarely rises to the surface in the great ruckus of the 2008 presidential race -- and that is whether an Obama administration would seek to prosecute officials of a former Bush administration on the revelations that they greenlighted torture, or for other potential crimes that took place in the White House.

Obama said that as president he would indeed ask his new Attorney General and his deputies to "immediately review the information that's already there" and determine if an inquiry is warranted -- but he also tread carefully on the issue, in line with his reputation for seeking to bridge the partisan divide. He worried that such a probe could be spun as "a partisan witch hunt." However, he said that equation changes if there was willful criminality, because "nobody is above the law."

16. Well, the list of "pardons" this year is going to be a humdinger!
It is going to make Poppa's "Christmas gifts" look anemic.

2. Review?
Sure, that will work, along with Conyers endless stream of worthless letters and Waxman's equally worthless supoenas.

6. actually, there's a huge difference. Study up on what it means
to control the JD. Why do you think that the subjects of subpoenas and contempt citations are able to get away with their behavior? Because the JD is impeding any prosecution. And please, it's subpoena not supoena.

8. Ya got me on the typo
But I think this would be a waste of his valuable time. Get us out of Iraq, get us health care, get the economy fixed and let Bush go crawl back under a rock. Bush will never be able to do what other past presidents and Veeps like Clinton, Carter, and Gore have done. He will have no integrity, no moral authority, no clout. He can sit under is rock in Texas and read My Pet Goat until he croaks. Obama or Clinton will have better things to do.

10. Obama doesn't do the work - senate investigators will do it. How do you THINK IranContra
and BCCI were uncovered?

I have already heard that Kerry said there will be accountability. Get rid of the Clinton-Lieberman Bushprotecting wing of the Democratic party and this WILL get done.

14. Yep. Bill was already thinking ahead about getting in the Bushes'
good graces. Power and money after the presidency were his focus then and now.

25. Senator Clinton will make no statement on this
especially since Bill Clinton is her husband.

"I wish I could get them(The Bush Family) to adopt Hillary.".... Bill Clinton quote

Former President Bill Clinton discussed his relationship with President Bush's father last night on CBS LATE SHOW.

Clinton: "I think we're good friends. I like him very much. I've always liked him. When he was vice president, I was still a governor. We worked together on a number of things. He hosted the governors, in 1983...at Kennebunkport."

When they made an announcement about raising funds for Tsunami relief in Houston former First Lady Barbara Bush "announced us. And she said she has started to call me son. I told the Republicans there, I said don't worry, every family has one, you know, the black sheep. I told them, this just shows you the lengths the Bushes would go to get another president in the family. I wish I could get them to adopt Hillary."
