Remember when y'all had hernias over Hillary "insulting" Mississippi? |
|
That's all y'all talked about during the week preceding the Mississippi primary.
Well, Obama fucked up with his "bitter" Pennsylvanians comment. Shall I dig up the pronouncements y'all made about Hillary's inability to lead all 50 states, if she felt that Mississippi was so backwards? Do you now have those doubts about him? I wouldn't want to accuse some of you of hypocrisy or anything.
Sometimes the chickens DO come home to roost.

we, on both sides, jump on something and beat it into a frenzy beyond its actual importance.
These two instances you cite are good examples, IMO.

Like Hillary did about all of the small red states after she lost there.

"People in small towns are frustrated and bitter after decades of economic neglect."
vs.
"People in small states don't matter."
Can't see any difference at all.

15. But he did not quite say economic neglect did he |
|
Look at what he did say.
And damn his deception. Trashing the excellent record of a dem president is disgraceful.
And now he is blathering on about trade deals when the main reason for this economic shift is technological change.

6. Hehe. Good point. Although Clinton lost my mother's vote over her Mississippi comments. |
|
I think that was it, anyway. My father cancelled her vote, though. Don't tell CNN, they'd be horrified that a woman voted for Obama and a man for Clinton. Wouldn't want to shake up stereotypes.

There's a difference, Silly, between pointing out that getting screwed over by the federal government makes people bitter, with simply calling people "second-class citizens."

22. No, she displayed the politics people are bitter over |
|
"How can Iowa be ranked with Mississippi?" Neither had elected a woman - that had to be the reason Iowa didn't elect her, that had to be what was "at work" in those two states. She was "shocked".
Way different than expressing empathy for the bitterness people feel when politicians treat them like that.

27. I never found Hillary's remarks upsetting about Mississippi |
|
I have found her whole "who gives a damn about Katrina/Rita survivors and things going on down along the Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Texas coasts after the worst natural disaster that ever hit this nation" attitude disturbing and upsetting, but I am used to her lies and smears, her words ring hollow.

31. So many are so quick to be insulted |
|
I think that Obama may be right about the bitterness. However, since when is it appropriate to say things just because they are true? "Hello Aunt Trudie! My but you are looking ugly today! That sweater is atrocious! You should really do something about that breath!"
I'm bitter as hell over being scammed far too often, but I don't clutch at religion or guns. It is really condescending to say such things. I've heard it said many times that religion is the knot at the end of the rope for so many people, and that very well may be true, but you don't go around saying "in your weakness you are clinging to your religion," especially to those from whom you expect a vote cast in your favor!
"Please vote for me, you silly little brainless fucks who can't manage in this life without clinging to the imaginary bearded cloud being and the guns he created."
Obama should have known better. This is a judgment call... he clearly failed the test.
