58. Can you have "her" holding a beerstein in 1 hand and a shot of Crown Royal in the other?
or maybe holding a shotgun in one hand and a brace of dead little duckies in the other?

As a long time feminist (taught women's studies at Pitt in the 70's for starters), I find Hillary's wasting her considerable potential & Yale law degree riding her husband's career/coattails for most of her life quite pathetic. What a terrible example for young women, i.e., to live your life through a man. And what's with women who are so desperate to see HRC elected that they are blind to her considerable shortcomings? You think maybe they depend on her to justify their own self-worth instead of going out and making their own contributions and achievements?

I too, don't see why some women are all ga-ga over her.. Shes a rich politician BEFORE she's a woman..at least in my eyes..

The fact that she's a woman would NEVER sway me..and I'm a 59 yr old woman..

She's the WORST example..

stay with a cheating husband because he can help your career
use HIS achievements to bolster YOUR resume'..

sorry..that's no women's libber..

had she divorced him, and truly done it on her own..and run for senator from Illinois or Arkansas, I would have definetly taken a 2nd look at her..

Mayors for Clinton rally draws small turnout

The Associated Press

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Turnout at a "100 Mayors for Hillary" rally in Harrisburg was a little under 20 percent.

Only 19 mayors of small and medium-sized Pennsylvania cities showed up for Tuesday's rally in the rotunda of the Pennsylvania Capitol. Other mayors' names were listed on placards supporting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Harrisburg Mayor Stephen Reed spoke for the group.

Reed criticized Clinton's rival, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, for saying at a San Francisco fundraiser last week that some voters in small towns in Pennsylvania cling to guns or religion because of their frustration over their economic circumstances.

Reed called Obama's comments "divisive and condescending" and said small-town values are the bedrock of American values.

TPM has a link about it here: http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/04/one_hundred_pennsylvania_mayor.php

It seems this was originally going to be a standard endorsement thing and was held for maximum stupidity...

I won't even hazard a guess as to how many total mayors there are in a state of 12.5 million people! Certainly no mandate here.

Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 02:23 PM by Divernan
Local government in Pennsylvania is a mosaic of 5,149 individual units. All were established by the state or provincial government and operate under the laws of the Commonwealth. Each unit is distinct and independent of other local units, although they may overlap geographically and may act together to serve the public.

In January 2003, there were 67 counties, 56 cities, 961 boroughs, one incorporated town, 1,548 townships (91 first class; 1,457 second class), 501 school districts and 2,015 authorities.

70. I've been trying to get a good figure because not all have mayors...
Most of the small ones have a set of "Commissioners" (or equivalent) that run the town or townships (which are a conglomerate of towns).

But even so, what is the 100? Like 0.01%?

83. Not quite. According to the Local Govt. Commission, there are 2,566.
There are 2,566 mayors in PA, and they only got 19!

71. Well... 100 (base 4) would be 16 (base 10). Maybe that was the point of confusion.

85. It was 19; here's a link:

April 15, 2008 2:27 PM

100 Pennsylvania Mayors formally jumped on the Clinton bandwagon. (Well, the 100th did, anyway. Officially.)

(And yes, before you ask, the "100" does include Mayor Stanley Zamerowski of Pringle, PA, population 991.)

Unfortunately for Clinton, ABC News' Eloise Harper points out, only 19 of the 100 Mayors showed up at the big event in Harrisburg today.

Per the AP, the other 81 mayors' names were listed on placards.
