The lesson we learn from bittergate |
|
In this age of the blogosphere, cell phone cameras, and 24 hour instant media, the candidates have to watch what they say even more. If we felt like candidates played their cards close to their vests before, then this will push them even farther into secrecy. If one little slip up at a private fundraiser can cost someone a couple of points in a crucial contest then we can only expect less truth from them. What is the incentive to tell people what you really think if every word is going to be dissected and possibly spun against you?
The lesson is, be as bland as possible. Don’t answer difficult questions. Speak in platitudes and don’t analyze anything. Telling the truth will, invariably, only get you in trouble.

2. I'm afraid you're exactly right. They 're going to be much more guarded in what they say. |

4. I prefer they speak the truth and let the people digest it and decide... |

after all, it's the accumulated lies of the past several decades that have us in the condition we are in, now...

5. It is seeming like, no matter how desperately |

the media and most of their little bobble head brigade tries to take the starch out of Obama and influence voters, they are largely failing. Maybe the majority of folks are wising up to big money media, which is just like big money petroleum, pharma, health care, retail, etc. They want to trick us all against voting for our best interest, because they are so damn smart, and we are not, apparently. :sarcasm:

6. No, the lesson is more the opposite |
|
Tell the truth as you see it, and as much as possible. When the storm hits, stick by what you said. Don't back off just because someone is trying to make what you said sound bad. That's the lesson I think... If you don't get elected because you told the truth, then so be it, the electorate does not deserve you. You can work in the background and stay present to put what the administration does in a truthful light. But if you do get elected, then nothing can touch you (except of course assassination). The truth will have truly made you free.
