Clinton ignores flap; Obama raises it

Both of the these bloggers stories have been posted on here-with
BHO fans giving them the high five and smearing Hillary post after post.

Fernando Suarez is the cbs blogger---( the chatty crowd story)
look at his past posts
they are all smears/snarks on Hillary

Same for Jack Tapper the abc blogger (think I saw one hit on BO a while back)

Both of these bloggers have become the mainstay for BHO fans “truth”.

Here is another account-for those interested:

Clinton ignores flap; Obama raises it

Posted by Scott Helman, Political Reporter April 14, 2008 08:20 PM

PHILADELPHIA -- Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama each addressed the Philadelphia Democratic City Committee Jefferson-Jackson Dinner tonight, but they approached their latest spat differently.

Clinton ignored it completely, striking her ain't-it-cool-we-are-both-running-for-president tone as the Democratic rank-and-file of Philadelphia munched on Philly cheese steak, Italian sausage, deep-friend jalapeno poppers, and other heart-healthy fare.

"Neither Senator Obama nor myself could have dreamed we would be right here asking you for your votes," Clinton said, praising the pioneers of the civil rights and women's rights movements. "We are the beneficiaries of the work and sacrifice that so many of you and countless Americans have done over so many generations."

But Obama did talk about it, asking supporters to stand by him "if you understand that people really are angry, they really are fed up, some of them are really bitter, because Washington has forgotten them."

"It's not me who's out of touch," he continued. "It's folks that think that somehow folks are happy when they're out of a job and they lost a pension and they don't have heath care and their schools are underfunded. I know exactly what folks are going through."

"And," Obama added for good measure, "I go to church."

3. He's speaking for me when he says that the middle class and rural america is bitter!
Damn right I'm bitter. I've seen many loved ones lose their jobs, an additional one this week, due to outsourcing brought to you by NAFTA which only came to fruition from its institution over the last 2-3 years!

I've seen many young men and women in my community go off to fight the senseless war in Iraq that your candidate supported!

should I go on?

10. Be careful as you and the Clinton Campaign quickly back peddle
from your wildly overblown bitterness issue. It is just plain sad that a political organization that regularly stiffs small business people by not paying their debts on time is flushing money down the drain on a TV ad attempting to exploit an issue that only has saliency within the Republican Party and Hillary's inner circle. I guess Penn has been demoted but the tone-deafness lingers on.

42. Not really surprising
Hillary hasn't master the fine arts of Karl Rove politics. She attacked Obama herself, instead of using surrogates. Plus she failed to appreciate that she is more "elitist" than Obama, so that charge was not going to be believable (coming from her mouth anyway).

Obama has extended that olive branch more times than she has deserved.

The last time of note, led to the "meet me in Ohio" faux outrage.
She has continued being low and nasty ever since.

But, now she has done the worst of things, but she will never understand it.
She has viciously attacked and tried to malign, an honest man's honor, integrity and strong beliefs (that includes his religion and his fight for the american people).

Its not just political, its personal.

Does that mean you're better than the other candidates because you go to church more then them? But you didn't say more, did you. Implying Hillary doesn't go to church? What the hell did he mean?

He can't help putting himself upon a pedestal.

And instead of killing the "elitist" and "arrogant" labels, he underscores them.

33. So he pivots and panders?
He is the one that claimed that rural voters "cling" to religion and guns out of bitterness. Very easily seen as ridiculing them. And he acknoledged as much by apologizing for his remarks.

Know what, tho. He may well have inflicted a political wound upon himself with that line about going to church. We all know he goes to chruch. We've all seen the, "God Damn America" snippets of his spiritual mentor of 20 yrs. And those people he was trying to woo with that line - the ones he feels he offended with his "bitter" remarks? Well he may well have just reminded them of something they may have forgotten.

I'm thinking he won't.

I've always waited for a "leader" who will change his words at the least amount of friction. But he is a blank slate, after all. At least that is what he said.

I still think he may have opened a can of worms with that "And I go to church" comment. I think he may inadverently stoked recent feelings concerning Wright in the very people I see him as suddenly pandering to.

Who knows. Maybe it went over their heads?
