*****HILLARY CLINTON IS UNELECTABLE*****
Edited on Wed Apr-16-08 04:13 AM by Hippo_Tron
Look, she's way behind in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio.

http://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2008/Clinton/Maps/Apr15.html

And even though she does better than Obama in Florida, McCain is outside the margin of error in enough states that she simply can't win. At least that's the logic that Clinton supporters have been using when claiming that Obama is unelectable.

Okay so now that I have your attention can Clinton and Obama supporters alike take a step back for a moment and realize that Hippo_Tron is right when he points out the obvious fact that POLLS IN APRIL ARE NOT THE SAME AS POLLS IN OCTOBER. Polls right now don't give us a clear picture of what things will be like when the real campaign starts (September and October).

Both of our candidates ARE ELECTABLE. There may be good arguments for both candidates as to why one is more electable than the other but they are both electable. People who post April polling data to try and prove otherwise are wrong.

That is all.

2. Obama's electable is double Hillary's in recent polls. She has lost her argument to stay in.

3. Good point.
You are going to get a lot of recommendations based on your title alone. I find that humorous at this point.

9. Obama can get to 270 according to that map, 82 of McCain's EV's are within the margin of error
And 24 are in a dead even. According to the Hillary map, McCain has 270 EV's outside of the margin of error.

But again, it's April. These maps just don't tell us much.

12. You can read that map right?
It rather clearly shows that Obama does significantly better than Hillary, so your post tile was... sarcasm?

5. The wingnuts cannot WAIT for us to run Hillary.
Nothing will unite them around their crappy candidate than a Clinton.

You chose your own adventure.

7. I don't think Hillary is electable, not because she might not be an ok president
but because too many people really just plain don't like her or trust her. This is my semi-informed opinion.

The Independents and Republicans who are leaning toward Obama will not vote for Hillary. Current undecideds are more likely to vote for McCain than stay home and risk Hillary getting into office. No I don't have a link but it's what I've gathered from reading, and talking to many people personally who really don't want the Clintons back in the WH and who do see McCain as a change from GW.

8. Oooo, pretty pictures!
Clinton vs. McCain

Obama vs. McCain

They actually show both candidates losing to McCain but the Clinton one is certainly worse. I followed this site in the 2004 election and found it to be somewhat biased in favor of the Repigs. They've scrubbed some of the more obvious things that show it from their site but I still don't trust them. Also they only use the very latest poll. I'm going to start making my own maps and use Pollster's average of all polls instead.

11. Like I said
I don't think this site's very good. It only takes the very latest poll into account. I prefer to use a running average of all polls, like pollster.com
