As for donations. Simple law of diminishing returns.

Out of a pool of likely donors the trend is there will be a growth of donors interested and it will grow until it hits the high point. Then because there is less in the pool the numbers on rates go down.

As the campaign has been long and difficult. There is not going to be all that many interested in donating for the first time left.

I do not know if he will hit 1.5 by May 6.. Depends on the people waiting for the results of PA before they donate. Tho if he keeps up a steady rate on new donors he will do fine in my view.

Remember may is the last month of major campaigning for the race. And the number of donors continues to Climb. That leaves a good number of people who can can still donate and have not maxed out. That means that throughout May he is going to be pretty free to spend a good amount of money downstream to start touching states that have not seen much activity yet.

On top of several state conventions giving Obama more press coverage.

Overall I think things are great.

98. Clinton can't be "forced" to exit. She has to leave on her own or wait to the convention.

You see donations work for the long term. They work so that Obama can say put ads, offices, work, in Kentucky and Oregon WELL before Clinton can even dream of doing much in those States.

Meanwhile the large warchest means Clinton will have to empty hers trying to keep Indiana from being a complete loss for her. She may win there. But there will not be much of a warchest then. And because everyone is so tired of this primary I highly doubt she will get many donors after May 6. She will have to spend more time at any fundraiser that can get her more than 50 thousand than actually campaigning.

And while that is happening Obama will be in West Virginia campaigning and likely RAPIDLY melting Clinton's lead there. Again she will have to empty whatever is left in the warchest trying to defend.

Then it is off to Kentucky were Obama has been working for almost a month. Again the melting of Clinton's lead there while likely growing the lead in Oregon.

Etc.. Etc..

These donations are so that Obama can do work long term. They can't force Clinton to do anything.
