Bruce Springsteen......elitist?
Seriously, he probably made more money in the past 10 years than all three candidates combined...so it isn't the money, I guess. Can anyone possibly think of the man as an elitist? Ever?

1. Who is more of an elitist? Sir Elton John or Bruce Springsteen?

...many people who know him and he has a reputation of just being a regular guy.

7. Again, contrast that with "Sir" Elton
Who is a complete and total jerk when dealing with the local caterers, stage crew, hotel staff, etc.

Elton created a full-blown fustercluck at Manchester-Boston Airport a year or so ago when he refused to leave his plane until TSA granted his limo permission to drive out on to the tarmac to pick him up.

10. Seriously?....
Elton sounds a little spoiled.

I was at a John Fogerty concert a couple of years ago and Bruce came by to do an encore with him at about 11:30PM. The place went crazy. I thought it was fun, but I'm not a fan - John Fogerty was great!

13. I know several people in the local entertainment biz
I do some legal work for a few Manchester night spots, so I talk to a number of club owners, arena employees, limo drivers, etc. Elton has a rep as one of the most obnoxious celebs to come through town.

Others don't have a big head at all. Viggo Mortensen came to town to campaign for Dennis Kucinich and by all accounts was a very pleasant guy. Sully Erna, the lead singer from Godsmack, lives in a nearby starter castle town but still stops in at some of the blue collar hangouts when he's not on tour. The late Brad Delp, the singer for the band Boston, was another local guy who was always good to his fans.

so gracious to put up with having to meet people like me...lifelong fans who idolize him. I actually have gotten the chance to play some Bruce FOR him at my gigs-he gave me and my wife a thumbs up. Now does anybody know where the drop off site is gonna be for the Clintonites' CD,tape and vinyl burning?

right out of the water. I've met a lot of famous people in my life and he was the most impressive-you know who is #2 on my list? Randi Rhodes

22. yup she lives about a mile away from me
here in Lake Worth and one day on my way to work I saw her on Lantana Road on her way home from WJNO. She was rocking out with the windows open listening to The Troggs' Wild Thing, and smoking a cigarette. I opened my door at the light, looked back at her and told her "I love you" and which caller I was. She actually talked about on her show the next day.

24. Steve Earle
One of my all-time favorite songwiters. Sort of a twangy Texas version of Springsteen. Met him after an acoustic show when he just decided to hang out and talk music, politics, and baseball with fans.

Great guy.

16. Define the word "elitist"
I believe that before the newt gingrich hand book on distorting words came out (remembr when liberal wasn't an insult) elitist ment someone who was at the top of their game or field. The best of the best.

Now it's believed to be an insult to be smart or good at something. It's not an insult to be elitist, it's just how the repubs have twisted the word. Remember they always use it somewhere with educated, latte drinking, and liberal.

maybe we can reclaim the positive definition of elite/elitist. Sprigsteen has been the best of the best for nearly 40 years now.
