I don't support every vote of Clinton's while she's been in Congress, and a few of the things she's done and said against my candidate have ruffled my feathers quite a bit; I think she's gotten too personal on occasion. But in the end, I know she's a Democrat and she'll support the eventual nominee, which all but certainly is gonna be Obama.

Nine times out of ten my positions are within a handshake's distance from her positions--and the same can be said of Obama's. She's fighting like hell now and I'm sure she'll keep fighting like hell after the convention. If she was a man, more of her opponents would call her determined, dedicated, principled, and impassioned.

I'm not all that worried about the general election, either. Our two factions are all but ripping each other's eyes out now (tho I confess to finding that "Annie Oakley" line pretty damn funny) . But despite all this, and despite McCain's regularly scheduled on-air blow jobs from Tweety & Wolfy and his newfound bedfellows at Fox, the old guy's still running just behind in statistical ties with both our candidates. Once we pull our shit together this summer, things are going to look a lot different.

So cheer up, toast your rivals here, folks, and remember this. You don't have to be an ass to be a donkey.

1. I do too. That's why I voted for Obama, so she can go back to Congress.

2. Thank you.
The hy-sterics around here make for an important learning experience to these DU whippersnappers. By 2012 they'll realize a good candidate can afford to take a few tough punches and is often better for having had a kick ass sparring partner.
