Obama: Not the first time I made a mangled statement and it's not going to be the last. People are going through very difficult times right now, and that was true even before the crisis from the mortgages. The point i was making was that when people feel Wash isn't listening to them, they focus on the things that are constant like religion; they end up being more concerned about guns. And wedge issues, hot button issues, end up taking more prominence. And we never get....what people need relief on. And yes people are frustrated and people are angry.
