the open.

Hillary was put in the position of having to VERY PUBLICLY knock down her OWN BIGGEST REASON to the supers for staying in this race without the math, and did it in front of THAT national audience of supers who were listening to every word.

Obama won tonight - - and won BIG!

Everything else is secondary.

Clinton emphatically says Obama can win White House

By BETH FOUHY, Associated Press Writer 21 minutes ago

PHILADELPHIA - Hillary Rodham Clinton said emphatically Wednesday night that Barack Obama can win the White House this fall, undercutting her efforts to deny him the Democratic presidential nomination by suggesting he would lead the party to defeat.

"Yes, yes, yes," she said when pressed about Obama's electability during a campaign debate six days before the Pennsylvania primary.

Im sorry but fuck no!

Obama was on his way to victory before this and even tho I thought the floodgates were open, Senator Clinton needs to have a chance to atleast try to PA,

Yes Obama won and will win the nomination. No need for BS to define the way.

Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 09:07 AM by blm
heard her declare loud and clear that Obama is indeed electable over McCain.

It's not that THIS statement is the only reason - and that was never even implied in my post - but it will be a contributing factor to supers who we already know have been leaning to Obama in greater numbers than for Clinton. She was forced publicly to refute her biggest reason for staying in and THAT will not be lost on anyone still hovering between the two.

35. This is true. They are not naive. They know which side their bread is buttered on, and if you think
they would switch based on an argument of unelectability when Obama has the delegate and pop. vote lead just because Hillary is telling them something privately, which she fervently disavowed it on national television, then you are the one who is naive. They would be roasted alive at the polls.

the size of which Hillary had expected to get in Penn...........but won't.

Then the remaining supers will hang their hat on the size of the victory in NC.

How are they going to do that when Hillary just proclaimed on national TV that he is?

25. No, that's just talking points. The SDs must use their own judgement as to who they think
the best, and most electable nominee is. End of story.

Hillary and Barack may well go to the convention. Who ever gets the most delegates there wins.

Obama lost an opportunity tonight to claim an entitlement to the nomination by winning the PDs. He tacitly accepted that the SDs had the right to vote however they wished. That was kind of big, in my mind.

But who knows? I think that by the time the race finished on June 3 we will have a better sense of where we stand. If Obama wins PA outright then the race is over.

The average voter isn't too focused on some exchange over whether one Democrat thinks the other Democrat can win. And the SDs are going to make their own judgement about the electability of the candidates, not be locked into a decision based on a forced "endorsement" made in a situation where she had to be respectful.

No one won tonight's debate...it was fairly routine. Obama's best moment was on Social Security, I thought he handled it well. Hillary got her response cut to 5 seconds by the mods going to commercial.

37. OMG, dish out some more apple pie for yourself! LOL. Do you really
for one second think that these SDs are that altruistic? The vast majority of them are politicians looking after their own skin. The perception of themselves by their public is what they're worried about, first and foremost. If there's even a hint that they stole this primary for HRC they will burn in political hell.

I know some call it being "vetted". Like those eight Floridian teens "vetted" their friend.

Hillary made a cameo appearance at the Ambush Debate.
But, Obama, kept his cool and remained unflappable.

After April 22 and we can get on with the business of the presidency.
