Who really thinks Obama has a real chance of LOSING the nomination?
I mean getting defeated in the next 5 states or so, or having his lead overturned by the superdelegates? If you really think there is a real chance of that happening, I want to meet you, because I've not met a single person who thinks that way in real life.

7. It is only a small chance - he loses Ind and PA - scores poorly with white males under 40 - and it
will likely be a Hillary nomination despite all that has happen so far.

It is the job of the SD to prevent the nomination of a loser - the Mondale problem - and if Obama is seen as a likely loser (and without Hillary on ticket as VP he in my opinion has an excellent shot at losing), then the SD will kiss off their job if they pledge to him.

But it takes the white male rejection plus no must win blue state primary beyond his home state to get the ball rolling.

53. Clintonista myth: "job of superdelegates to prevent a loser"..
BS. You Clinton supporters just repeat the same lies so much you all think they are true. The super delegate postion was created so that DNC officials and office holders would be forced to go to the convention... not to save democracy from it self.

9. You never know
It's extremely unlikely at this point, but nothing in this life is completely predictable except death, taxes and gutter politics from the Clintons. Obama could still self-destruct politically, or contract some life-threatening illness like Giuliani during Clinton's first senatorial run in NY. Or shocking evidence could emerge of an extra-marital affair between him and with Dick Cheney. So as remote as it seems, you never know.

12. Obama supporters do!
They live in fear! Otherwise why would they be so anxious to start a campaign for her to drop out before the PA primary. Maybe they were afraid Hillary would beat him a few more times before the convention? That's why they spend so much time and money trying to win over super delegates...all th while they complain and criticize Hillary for the same thing. Hypocrites, one and all!

17. Ever heard of that thing called the General Election?
Political analyists agree that the prolonged Democratic primary is hurting the Democrats for the General Election. All the while Hillary spends prolonging the inevitable (her defeat and Barack's nomination), John McCain is catching plenty of rest and preparing for the fall. I can't tell you how many Democrats I've spoken to in the past few weeks have told me they're sick of BOTH candidates and are planning to vote for John McCain in the GE.

20. "are planning to vote for John McCain in the GE."
I know plenty of people who feel like that. They also don't want a woman or black in office. That's not Hillary's fault!

Besides she's giving him lots of practice...which obviously he needs... defending off Rethug attacks...which he will run into like a brick wall.

He needs lots more practice defending Rev. Wright. Right?
Also...because of this long Dem primary Dems are getting all the media attention and smothering McCain right out of the news. We get to discuss our issues over and over again in the nightly news and in the debates. Can't deny that can you? Now how's that hurting our party?

31. It's sad isn't it?
If he had only waited till after Hillary won...and not divided the party...we could have had a woman and Dem president for the nest 8 years. Obama could have been VP and as an experienced politician...would have been guaranteed to win as the first black President and kept Dems in control for another 8 wonderful years. 16 years of control...by then Jim Webb would be ready to jump in.

But Noooooo, Obama was too impatient to wait and had to jump in now...divide our party and ruin our chances. Now we'll be LUCKY if we even win the election and the White House. We might not even get to pick the next 3-4 SCJs. To sum it all up...we could have had our first woman and black president and now we not get either. Instead we might get another 4-8 years of the bush* policy. I'm sick about the whole thing. :puke:

59. "Yeah how dare he"

"hasn't even learned to wipe his own ass yet and ruined everything for poor Hillary"

It's not that he dared...he had a right to dare! It's the fact that he stupidly, willingly, and willfully divided the party...probably forever...and ruined our chances of a woman and black president. If we lose this election...It will be Obama's need to be president now...couldn't be patient and wait till the opportunity was right...like 8 years from now.

He had to know ahead of time that it would divide our party and rob us of a sure Dem win. IMHO I think it was a selfish thing to do...he was thinking of himself and his movement...not out country, party and future.

That's my belief and you have a right to yours. You all certainly post a lot of your own beliefs so why can't Hillary supporters without being told where to go? Well, don't bother...I'm going out for the evening. :hi:

If he loses a significant percentage of support, if there is one more drama, then I think the SD will vote en masse for Hillary.

Time will tell, I think Obama knows; how much support he has lost and if there is another big surprise.

I don't think that will work. If he does get the nomination, he will lose to McCain.

Hillary Clinton can beat McCain. Obama cannot. He didn't know how to answer questions tonight, he was flustered and stammering and rambling. He should not have started running for president so soon after becoming a senator. He should have held committee meetings on Afghanistan that he was supposed to chair. He should also have distanced himself from people like Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, and Bill Ayer years ago, and he shouldn't have used trickery to win elections. He's never faced real opposition in an election.

If you run the cold probabilities, Slate's "Clinton death watch" index of a 90% probability of an Obama nomination seems about right. She could pull it off, but it'd be a hell of a thing.

She won't win all the states coming up. She will lose in NC. Its now close in PA, so there goes her big win there. Shes behind in pledged, popular vote, and states won. Nobody thinks the Supers will override the will of the voters so its over in everybody's mind except the medias. They have every reason to minimize the above and not talk about it as much as possible. If they did people would stop watching till the general heats up around convention time. Ratings= money for them so they are going to keep the illusion of a close race alive as long as they can.
