An open letter to Clinton Supporters: |
|
ABC made BOTH democratic candidates look bad. They weakened BOTH candidates against McCain.
Don't be so blind in your hatred for "the other guy" that you don't see that. The kind of sham that took place in Philly tonight hurts ALL of us who care about democratic ideas and want to see a democrat in the White House.
Everyone should be disturbed by this, no matter which candidate you support. As a party we LOSE when we allow Republicans to control the talking points in a democratic primary.

... they're most hated person looked less than hot.
There's nothing left for Clinton supporters but to see Obama fail. He won't, of course, which will forever gnaw at them - and 30 years down the line, we'll have a new crop of Dick Cheneys.

9. The role of the media is to evoke and let the chips fall where they may; they did that |
|
DU seems to be complaining that they weren't in the bag. McCain won't be either. The party -- the Democrats -- need to know now who can take the heat and who'll fade.

13. Because superficially Hillary "won" the debate, |
|
And the temptation is to be happy and play that up, while ignoring some of the repercussions of what happened.
Because upon deeper reflection, I think both our candidates lost the debate. I think the democratic party lost the debate tonight as well.

11. I disagree. I think both candidates had a chance to address issues that we weighing them down |
|
Hillary talked about Bosnia, and the fact that she wrote a book in 2004 in which she told the correct version of events, which is something she needed to put out there. It helps immunize her (if she is the GE candidate) from the charge that she deliberately lied, rather then just had a wacky moment. Most people will accept (admittedly with some skepticism) that she botched the story as long as they know that she was the one who had originally provided the correct information which contradicted the later account.
And Obama had a chance to address all these issues which WILL come up if he is the GE candidate. He will have to answer them at some point. It's good that he had a chance to answer them now, and give his reasons why these associations don't reflect on him in the manner that some people have suggested. He presented himself in the manner that he wanted to present himself. He also had a chance to explain the "small town" comments the way that he wanted them to be perceived.
In the end, it was just another debate. There was no game-changing moment here. Both candidates did fine.
If anyone should be upset it is Clinton supporters. Obama's best moment was on the Social Security issue--and they cut to commercial before HRC could give a complete response.

Let's just say I'm a little o'd at the moment from hearing DUers call Clinton a Republican and her supporters phony Democrats.
Did Hillary sound like a Repuke tool tonight, folks? And I'm talking specifically to her remarks about, how after *, the GOP shouldn't even try to put up a candidate.
Sound like a McCain mistress to you?
