“Reflecting what seemed to be the main consensus of the night - that ABC botched this debate, big time - Charlie Gibson tells the crowd there will be one more, superfluous commercial break of the night and is subsequently jeered.
"OH..." he declares, hands raised in defense. "The crowd is turning on me, the crowd is turning on me."
Off camera, observers let out their frustrations. Watch it:

When are you people going to ask our candidates questions about the issues and not the high-school drama every news outlet has been droning on for the last week? We have our men and women fighting in a war, our economy is going downhill and all you could come up with is drama about who said what and who's wearing their flag pin and who isn't? None of this is important to the future of our country. I want to know where the candidates stand on real issues.

Utterly shameful. You kept on beating Obama over the head with everything you could throw at him, all under the guise of testing him before the Republicans do. Then Clinton pretty much admits to lying about the Bosnia thing, and you just ignore it. And how kind of you to "even out" the speaking time for each candidate by giving Clinton more time to talk about policies after you've wasted so much of Obama's time with manufactured scandals.

ABC, you wasted our time with silly questions. Have the reality TV producers taken charge of the news division?

Hey George Stephanopolous - must feel good for you to be working for the Clintons again. Charlie Gibson - so who are you in the tank for? Is it Clinton or McCain? I couldn't tell, it seemed like you wanted to help both of them. Where do the candidates stand on healthcare? I wouldn't have any idea after watching this sham of a debate. Perez Hilton would have asked more pertinent questions. Hell, even Paris Hilton would have done a better job running this debate. Look forward to watching Brian Williams and Tim Russert during your time slots in the future.

Could we please have a debate about issues and not our perceptions about someone's patriotism? What was learned from this debate?

Oh how I miss Peter Jennings he would never have done such a disgraceful job.” More at link:
