Nobody said it was going to be easy
So you thought getting the best candidate elected would be easy. If that candidate were not a threat to the very people who currently own the system, you might be right. We have had several recent reminders that we are up against more than another Democratic candidate and an eventual Republican rival. We are challenging a status quo that is well funded and in control of the tools that control the easily distracted masses.

You expected Fox News to stand in your way but you had no idea you were up against the awesome force of the Magic Kingdom. You never expected to be told every week what was really important in choosing a leader, no matter how trivial and irrelevant those criteria are.

You never thought that supporting a bright, inspirational candidate would be the equivalent of standing in front of an advancing tank or hurling rocks at the establishment palace. After what we saw tonight, it seems pretty obvious that the revolution we have been waiting for is going to be as tough as it is worthwhile. If we stand with our candidate we will eventually be standing with a president of destiny, President Barack Obama.

24. I like your thinking!
Talk to the rest of your crybaby comrades, will you?

ABC unleashed the beast last night. If Mr. Obama can withstand that debate, and come out unscathed.... I am behind him 100%. And so is Hillary.

6. "The awesome force of the Magic Kingdom" Nice one there.
The mission of the moderators was "bloody up Obama". I missed most of the bullshit part but I'm guessing he held his own or the talking heads would have been going apeshit.

8. Yes. I keep reminding myself how quickly they did Dean in --after Iowa.
Look how long Obama has survived. I have been amazed at his resiliency. Folks, he has been standing alone speaking truth to power for months now. Corporate Media has toyed with him---good for ratings--thinking that harping on the various "gates" would end him. However, now that he actually has a chance to win, they must seriously take him down.

I knew this was coming, with all the good news we were getting from the polls today, saying their latest attempt was failing. I had a sick feeling it would not be pleasant tonite. Of course, Hillary is part of the establishment, she has cozied up to FOX, so it is no stretch she was part or this pile-on tonight, with George S. as moderator, and him getting his questions from Hannity.

A Set up from Day One.

Corporate Media want to have both horses in the race, and they want Hillary and McCain---they will allow the winner to be the one who cow-tows best.

Maybe the public will awaken, due to the hurt they are beginning to feel with gas prices, economy, etc. I hope they are smarter than I think they are.

20. Yeah, but there have been some sharp personal attacks on Hillary supporters here at DU.
And I like the repetition sometimes. But, yeah, sometimes I do get bored. It depends on my mood.

12. Since Ignore isn't working tonight, I'll bite
People who are sincere supporters of either candidate should be appalled at what ABC did tonight. It was a slap in all our faces because it deprived us a chance to compare the candidates on substance. A network that treats one of the most serious thing we do in our democracy as entertainment insults everyone who comes to this board in the spirit of real democracy.

14. I honestly don't see it. It was just another debate. Nobody won and nobody lost.
It was totally routine. But the first half made both candidates have to answer questions that they will have to answer eventually.

They covered a lot of issues. Iran, Iraq, taxes, Social Security. I do with they had tackled global warming, but I'm sorry to say that a lot of the debates have skipped over that (which is kind of disgusting since it is the most important issue we face, by far IMO).

21. what happened is Obama went from Fantasyland to Reality
Since the Fascist bastards are going to scream "unqualified Muslim peacenik" at him it's good that he's getting a dose of reality now because the cable whores will turn on him once Hillary is out of the picture. I don't don't want to find out he has a glass chin in October. If he has a glass chin, let's find out now.

Maybe HRC is doing the Democrats a favor so they'll still have a viable candidate for when Obama shoots himself in the foot badly enough even the whoremedia can't salvage his candidacy.

23. Agreed. Primaries themselves are the vetting process....
This primary process, ("how the sausage is made") may not be pretty
but IMO, we will ultimately end up with a better, more viable candidate for it.
