95. "Gave 6 billion to oil companies" is a campaign LIE.
Some research:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/443/

Short and sweet, Hillary is complaining that Obama voted for renewable energy, increased overall industry taxes, and voted with, well, everybody who wasn't casting a symbolic-only "no" vote.

She'd prolly also complain that the following:
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/energy/

...Is a 150 billion dollar "give away" to energy companies, too. We don't want the companies, oh, to have reasons to invest in our future, right?

62. You want an answer: Here's your answer.
The energy bill in 2001 was supported by, among others, Paul Wellstone, John Edwards, John Kerry, and Max Cleland. Its opponents included Gramm, Kyl and McCain.

You really want to make that one vote an issue. Or maybe the world isn't as simple as your thinking.

77. That is not the answer as to why O-B-A-M-A supported it; that answer is contained within...
his association with the energy producing concerns & interests in the state of Illinois and beyond. That is your answer. Not that everyone else did this or somebody else did that. That is your answer: Barack Obama voted for Dick Cheney's energy policy period and you guys need to get your heads around it

97.  Dick Cheney's Energy Bill was in 2005. and, It was Bush's CLASS ACTION FAIRNESS
This is why we have Obama in our midst. people don't READ. Here you go:

7/29/05 Vote 213: H R 6: Offered tax breaks and incentives in what supporters said was an effort to spur oil and gas companies to provide innovative wasy to reduce the nation's dependence on foreign oil, conserve resources and reduce pollution. Barack voted YES. Hillary voted NO.

Here's more Information from Wiki:
The Washington Post contended that the spending bill is a broad collection of subsidies for United States energy companies; in particular, the nuclear and oil industries.<9>
Texas companies in particular benefit from the bill. This criticism is heightened by the fact that President George W. Bush, the House Majority Leader (Tom DeLay), and the Chairman of the House Energy & Commerce Committee (Joe Barton) were all from Texas. The fact that the bill passed 66-29 with wide support from Democrats for the bill has not calmed this criticism (a Philadelphia Inquirer editorial on July 28, 2005, suggested Congress had a "let's pass it and claim we did something" attitude).
Supporters of the bill concede that the bill will do little to lower oil prices immediately, and that any changes the bill has enacted will not happen overnight.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_Policy_Act_of_2005

Class Action Fairness Act:
2/10/05 Vote 9: S 5: Sought to curtail the ability of plaintiffs to file class-action lawsuits against corporations by making cases that were filed in multiple states the responsibility of federal courts. Yes Yes No

Here's more from Wiki:
Critics charged that the legislation would deprive Americans of legal recourse when they were wronged by powerful corporations. Congressman Ed Markey (D-Mass.) called the bill "the final payback to the tobacco industry, to the asbestos industry, to the oil industry, to the chemical industry at the expense of ordinary families who need to be able go to court to protect their loved ones when their health has been compromised."<2>
Critics charge that this bill will make it far more difficult to bring class action suits, and may prolong such litigation, clogging the federal courts' dockets. The act also gives the Federal government the ability to somewhat control, through judicial appointments, outcomes that were previously under state control. No Republican legislators voted against the bill.

68. I heard him state that 41's foreign policy
in regards to the collapse of the Warsaw pact nations at the end of 89 and the subsequect collapse of the overall Soviet Union was handled well (in that I think he was spot on, you know some times it might pay to give a person his due when they perform well even if overall we do not agree with them).

He also thought that his handeling of Gulf War 1 was done with reasponsibility.

He left the indication that he might listen to 41 on foreign policy issues.

Gee how about that a man who is secure enough in his views that he willing to listen to leaders in the other party who have proven to be competent in a certain area and perhaps take that into consideration when formulating his options. How refreshing, I believe that is what is know as leadership.

And you very well Hillary will never in an million years do the same, she and Bill are much to smart to need any help.

It needs to be shouted from every where: OBAMA GETS IT!!

5. She is an alpha female nuclear toting cowboy itching to nuke Iran
The question was first addressed to Obama, and then to Clinton:

STEPHANOPOULOS: During the Cold War, it was the United States policy to extend deterrence to our NATO allies. An attack on Great Britain would be treated as if it were an attack on the United States.

Should it be U.S. policy now to treat on Iranian attack on Israel as if it were an attack against the United States?

CLINTON: Well, in fact, George, I think that we should be looking to create an umbrella of deterrence that goes much further than just Israel. Of course, I would make it clear to the Iranians that an attack on Israel would incur massive retaliation from the United States.

But I would do the same with other countries in the region. We are at a very dangerous point with Iran. The Bush policy has failed. Iran has not been deterred. They continue to try to not only obtain the fissile material for nuclear weapons, but they are intent upon using their efforts to intimidate the region and to have their way when it comes to the support of terrorism in Lebanon and elsewhere.

And I think that this is an opportunity, with skillful diplomacy, for the United States, to go to the region and enlist the region in a security agreement vis-a-vis Iran.

<snip>

And we will let the Iranians know, that, yes, an attack on Israel would trigger massive retaliation. But so would an attack on those countries that are willing to go under the security umbrella and forswear their own nuclear ambitions. And finally, we cannot permit Iran to become a nuclear weapons power. And this administration has failed in our efforts to convince the rest of the world that that is a danger, not only to us, and not just to Israel but to the region and beyond.

Therefore, we have not to have this process that reaches out beyond even who we would put under the security umbrella, to get the rest of the world on our side to try to impose the kind of sanctions and diplomatic efforts that might prevent this from occurring.

shoot me if you would like, but I do not see her experience as First Lady as a blanket okay for her to walk into the oval office.

Her Senate tenure would be a better argument.

But I think you come across as she is entitled to this office due to her gender?

I may end up having to vote for her because the idea of more GOP rule is more than any person should be made to tolerate.

But believe me I will take no joy in doing so, and will not be looking forward to 4 to 8 more years of Clinton's in the white house.

71. Obama = Criminal?? Okay
I suppose at this point it would be futile to ask you to lookup Travelgate or Filegate in Wikipedia.

I purposely did not choose Whitewater or Monica as their are extenuating partisan parts of those investigation that invalidate them for the points I aim to make.

In both Travelgate and Filegate, their was an amazing lack of memory when any one was asked about those dealings, in fact for being the so called smartest women in the world Hillary was highly selective in her memory.

The Special Prosecutor found that Hillary had been factually inaccurate, the only reason he could not bring charges was that their was a mass case of amnesia of so many associated with those 2 investigations.

In fact some biographers of Hillary have stated that Hillary had decided that in effect she would lie to these prosecutors because in her view she should not have been investigated.

Why? what makes her any better than me or others?? The fact that she is a Clinton and is therefore entitled??

Remember both of these matters had nothing to do with Ken Starr or the White Water imbroglio at it's beginning.

In fact Travelgate happened before the White Water mess even gained traction.

Check in out if you dare, and then come and argue with me about how ethical she is.

Of course we can just take a look at her actions of the last 8 months and get a pretty good of the stench her so called ethics have.

Oh yeah, I forgot - when people focus on meaningless garbage like flag lapel pins, it mysteriously seems to benefit your candidate. When people focus on ISSUES, Obama benefits, because he can actually run on issues without insulting voters' intelligence by grasping at straws for the most trivial bullshit possible to use as wedge issues - a tactic everyone knows is ripped right from the Rove playbook.

You do understand that tripe like "HA HA HA HA HAH AH HAH AH A You finally saw a real debate and couldn't handle it" is why Hillary is getting her ass kicked I hope.

With friends like you my dear, Hillary doesn't need misogynists. The blood lust with which you just laughed at her promise to massively retaliate against millions of innocent people just disgusts decent people. My suggestion is you scratch your head real hard after the PA Primaries instead of blaming the media, or sexists, or bad pots and pans because her hopes of being President are deader than a doorknob now. not now, not ever . . . too many people distrust and/or hate her . . . if she somehow got the nomination, she would lose to McCain big time . . . even if Americans had to hold their noses while voting . . .

that photo will make great roach control poison.

Also I am willing to go on record that her popularity rating withing 18 months of inauguration will be in the high 30'2 to low 40's.

66. Dear God: If I must I will vote for HRC in the general
but I will take no happiness in doing so.

Oh boy she is a fighter, she is going to fight those wascally and evil Republicans.

Guess what the result will be??

They will feel the same as we have felt while Bush 43 has shoved his junk down our throat, that will really engender a feeling that they should cross over and join hands on issues for the good of the country.

But as long as we win so what?? Problem with that approach is we then have to govern and we have no GOP scapegoat to blame since we will have the executive and legislative branches of government.

Poll after poll indicate that the public is to the point of wanting to vomit over this consistent bickering and partisan fighting. They want things done.

We do not want to look at it from an objective point of view but the record shows that the Clinton's in their own way were just as partisan as 43.

In fact one of the reasons that Gingrich was able to persuade the GOP to try things his way beginning in the late 80's was the petty treatment of the GOP minority by speakers O'neil, Wright etc.

Sometimes it might help to remember what goes around, comes around. Taking that into consideration
we should not have been all that surprised that the GOP decided that pay back is a bitch, we in a way asked for it. If we had not then the GOP would not have gained.

So we end up electing a so called fighter (and I will hand to the Clinton's they fight as hard and as dirty as any GOP operative ever has, we just don't want to admit it) and end having more of what we have experienced for 16 years (30 if you trace it back to Reagan).

Wonderful, a part of me thinks this will be like a daily root canal with out Novocaine.

Still I can not stomach the though of McCain and the GOP for another 4 years.

So I will vote for her highness if I must, but doing so will taste somewhat like eating cow-pie topped with urine.:hide:

70. When it finally got to the real policy questions that matter to the American people
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 12:07 PM by Seabiscuit
I thought that Hillary did much better than Obama. She clearly understands the issues, is able to explain them in detail and support her positions on what she will or won't do. Following Obama's answers to some of the questions, I had to follow all the twisting and turning and tangents he goes off on in order to answer a question. Its funny because some of their positions are very similiar. My take is after the bullshit questions that both candidates received from ABC and when it got down to real policy questions, Hillary won the debate. I do want to add, that I will vote for whoever the nominee will be for our party. What I saw last night with ABC they were just sharpening their knives against either one of our canidates and it will be hell in the GE. Democrats have to come together because we can not allow McCain to win the presidency and continue Bush/Cheney/Corporate America's wishes.
