Actually, the moderators are to blame. |
|
Yes, it was on ABC. Maybe someone at ABC knew some of the questions, heck, maybe someone knew all of the questions. Do you think they were run by the board or management team?
No, the two men who wrote and asked those questions are the ones that should be held accountable. I hope they are both fired. They obviously supported those questions because at times when both Clinton and Obama tried to point out the absurdity of them, they kept hammering them, they kept asking the same questions.
It was their debate and they are to blame. Hold them responsible!

1. Gibson was a horrible moderator. He was in "reporter mode" instead of "moderator" mode. |

9. Reporter for the National Enquirer maybe |

We had 45 minutes of gossip column bullshit. Aren't debates supposed to be about real issues?

10. At least Russert asked (albeit loaded) questions about the ISSUES |

11. I think the Russert debate was the best |
|
Loaded questions are the name of the game, but they had something to do with something I care about.

2. You think ABC wasn't privy to all of the details before the debate? |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 12:25 AM by MercutioATC
Even if ABC wasn't, it was their duty as the broadcaster and sponsor to verify that this event had at least some political significance.
ABC is responsible, IMO.

Gibson was in "debate" mode. When he started his rebuttals on the capital gains tax questions, it became beyond absurd. The candidates are supposed to debate, not the moderators.
If Charlie wanted to engage in debate, he should have thrown his hat in the race for the presidency.

4. Add the producer and I am in agreement. |
|
He in all likelihood vetted them.
But if the producer didn;t know what the questions were in advance, perhaps they need to go back to the farm team.

We are DEMOCRATS, for heaven's sake, and we've turned this into a contest of flubs and mistakes, rather than a contest about the ISSUES. If you need proof, you need look no further than this forum. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5513668&mesg_id=5513668
