This debate was purely for the benefit of the undecided superdelegates.
At this point they are the only ones who need to be swayed as to which candidate is the most electable.

Obama has already won the pledged delegates, she can't catch up. She's trying to make the case that she can beat McCain better than he can beat McCain. She didn't succeed tonight in making that case. His responses to the stupid old questions I think provided the answer for the USD's. Obama'sgoing to be the nominee. Have no fear.

1. Did you see how Obama literally called out the superdelegates in his closing. Time to wrap this up!
He's getting everyone mobilized to shut this thing down. Hillary is out of control. Obama is rising. YES WE CAN!

2. I agree, which is why I wish Obama would have thrown a punch.
He's proved to the SDs that he can be a team player, even in the face of adversity. He's won more states, more pledged delegates and more of the popular vote than Clinton.

He has yet to throw a punch.

He's obviously going to have to throw them in the general...and Clinton's behavior has given him the ethical justification (if not imperative) to throw them in the primary...but he hasn't.

Clinton has declared a no-holds-barred primary. I think Obama needs to draw blood...if only to show that he can.

3. I don't think he needs to throw a punch, I really don't.
I think he can knock 'em out with his very circumspect intelligence, added to his genuine respect for the intelligence and goodness of American people. People feel that, they know it's genuine, and they like the way it feels. (ok I know there are some haters who are exceptions, but.. enough people to get him into office. I feel more and more confident about this the longer it all goes on.)

5. I hear what you're saying...and I'm torn on this issue...
I don't want to see him climb into the gutter, I just want him to land a nice one...just one...on the chin. Gimme ONE blow that stuns her, even for a minute or two, and I'd be happy.

He has had sooooo many opportunities to do this and he's held back while she exploited every chance she had...even if she had to fabricate them. I think that landing one solid punch would work in his favor.

6. LOL... you just want to see that punch. I've wanted to punch her a few times myself.
But what I see is this: she is just making herself look really bad. He doesn't need to punch her, she's punching herself.

He did land some good ones, but he does it with dignity, and that's important for people to see. It's what we need in a president.

7. You're probably right...
I'd still like to see him land one...just one.
