You don't care if you kill the whole party, so long as you get your way.
And all you've done is make it a little easier for McCain to win -- which is Hillary's whole idea. You're just blindly helping her.

42. I wouldn't say blindly. |
|
I'd be even more blunt about it, but I believe I'd be breaking DU rules if I did. I'll say this instead - McCain isn't building a lead because Republicans are warming back up to him. They have nowhere else to go. He's building a lead because he's picking up independents and moderate Democrats. And, according to the last poll I saw, he stands to pick up 30% of Hillary's supporters if she's not the nominee as well. Why? Obama supporters are doing everything in their power to alienate Clinton supporters.
So congratulations. Your plan is working. But how do you intend to glue all the pieces back together again if your man gets the nomination? Oh... just assume Clinton supporters will forget what you've been doing the last few months?
Not likely.

|
There is just ONE problem with your argument ... Obama is the ONLY one who can win. He is the de facto nominee. And if Hillary supporters are voting for McCain, then we see where the real problem is ... with her supporters. Go and sign up for the GOP. They'll be happy to have you.

What make them think they can lie and trash our candidate with RW Talking points right out of FR and then think we can forgive and forget? They have another guess coming! Plus the fact that the foolish ones have helped McCain win in the GE. Not too bright in MHO.

You can tell Obama is standing there thinking "I can go there..or there.. or there.." just listing all the things he could pound her with - that he knows will run counter to his message.
The sadness in his eyes as he was looking at Hillary, whenever she was trying to score a cheap point, was very telling. He was constantly trying to make the moderators heighten the level of the debate, while she gleefully took every opportunity to lower it.
Against McCain that will be much more free fight, and he won't feel so inclined to pull the punches.

|
especially on issues like foreign policy, Iraq and the economy.
Obama doesn't seem to instill a great deal of confidence in people on the issues. He only seems to pick up support when he speaks in generalities with lofty rhetoric.
Empty rhetoric is truly the only thing he has going for him. When he has to talk about serious issues, he doesn't do well. There's a real concern about his readiness to hold office.
Neither candidate scored well when they attacked each other.
