As the last of a serious of increasingly wretched debates concluded last night, a debate that contained no relevant content to any potential voter due to the deliberate willful idiocy of the two 'moderators', one thing became quite clear: Barack Obama is the Democratic Party nominee, and he is now officially the target of all the moronic mendacity the bullshit media system can muster. The McCain vs Obama media attack has begun. I take that back. McCain is not relevant to this. It is the Bullshit Media System vs Obama campaign. The Republican nominee is not a factor in this. McCain will simply be War Hero John. (How anyone gets to be a hero for getting captured while blowing up people in a country we were not actually at war with in a war that was far bloodier and just as wrong as the current bad war is a tribute to just how well the bullshit media system has brainwashed the general population, but I digress.) McCain will be asked no hard questions. Obama will be confronted with one idiotic irrelevant attack after another. Any attack on McCain from the Obama campaign or some errant media voice not with The Program, will be dealt with as Kerry's question about the hypocrisy of Cheney's homophobic policy positions and his relationship with his lesbian daughter: !OUT OF BOUNDS! !FOUL!.

The 2008 Media vs Obama presidential campaign will not be about the war in Iraq, it will not be about healthcare, it will not be about our wrecked economy, it will not be about the crisis of peak oil, it will not be about the related crisis of catastrophic climate change, it will not be about un-affordable housing costs or un-affordable higher education costs, it will not be about the massive and open corruption of our federal government, taken over by a re-incarnated gilded age clique and run for their benefit at our and the world's expense. It will not be about any of these issues or about the 8 years of failed rule by this administration. It will be about one idiotic gotcha nonsense soundbyte after another. Our rulers have nothing to run on, and so they will run on nothing at all.
