Fascinating. I see dissertation fodder in abundance. |

Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Ethics, Journalism...you name it.
As someone who had both Obama and Clinton at the bottom of her preferred list of candidates at the start of this election cycle, I have found the discourse over the last several months amusing, depressing, frustrating and often downright bizarre. But mostly fascinating.
The interpretations and judgments depending upon the personal candidate of choice make for interesting reading when a single incident is being analyzed. Apparently due to his performance last night Obama just ran away with the nomination and ended his political career in one fell swoop. Clinton was unable to maintain her composure and the epitome of aplomb.
While pretty much everyone is in agreement the moderators couldn't muster up any insightful questions, they favored Obama, Clinton and McCain all at the same time.
So I'm going to guess the only winners last night were pundits and academics. Clearly the audience and electorate were dismissed as imbeciles and irrelevant ones at that.

1. "electorate were dismissed as imbeciles and irrelevant ones at that" |

Could it be because for the most part, they ARE?

2. With such an approach is that not a self-fulfilling prophecy? |

How do you think we ended up with such blatant moron as "president"? American voters, by and large, are lazy, blazing idiots with bassackwards priorities (imbeciles). (DU is NOT representative of the general voting public).
And with the lamestream corprat-owned media and corporations controlling EVERY THING - including and particularly our elections, the process, what candidates we have to choose from, AND the outcome - American voters are pretty damned irrelevant in the whole thing anyway - even if they DID know how to make an intelligent, informed choice.
It's already happened. Long time ago.

5. Well I, for one, am neither an imbecile nor irrelevant. |
|
And I suspect there are a fair number of people here at DU who feel the same.
No kidding the process has been in place for eons. However, I refuse to be a party to perpetuating it. If you choose to do so that is your own business.
