|
Thanks for finally vetting our leading candidate!
George, I wish you had not turned on Bill in the end....
But, I still respect your knowledge and experience when it comes to being in the Oval Office!

for ignoring the concerns of too many people in my small town. thanks for ignoring that they're having trouble feeding their families, and that the Food Shelf is necessary to more and more of them. Thank you for focusing on flag pins and Ayers. Thanks for the right wing frame. thanks for feeding the fucking idiots in our party who are so desperate to see hillary win that they're willing to buy into the freeper crap you generated.

ABC. also, anyone who thinks anything in this is a good thing (other than the cute asides about vetting obama) needs their head examined. No one was served here.

5. Right wing talk radio was thanking ABC this morning, too... |
|
It was amazing.
"That was the best debate I ever heard," said one caller to the Bill Bennett show. "They really stuck with the questions! And when he told Obama that cutting the capital gains rate got even more money, he couldn't even say anything!"
They were gleeful. They think this is journalism. It'll be interesting to see how many DUers agree.

7. Isn't it amazing the reaction from DU? |
|
I am stunned. Since the election started DU has cheered the media when they attack unfairly a candidate. They cheered when Tweety and Timmy set up Clinton and attacked her. They said she was fair game, what a baby, how can she run the oval office if she can't take the heat of a silly debate.
I guess it is not a free press that they want, but a press that attacks Clinton and coddles Obama.

44. No. I remember it well. |

And that is why I know our next Prez better be tough. And it is high time he had a taste of real politics. Because, if he gets the nomination... this will go on 24/7. And if he moves into the oval office it will be even worse than that!
I just heard Lionel tell a caller: "Politics is bloodsport: grow up and grow a pair."
That's about the size of it, my friend. And I want to win!

Clearly who wears lapel pins and who has sketchier acquaintances is the solution to our problems here in Philly!
Funny, 'cause I thought that crime, unemployment and an infrastructure teetering on the edge were our real problems.
Silly me.

27. If we had a media that didn't manufacture bullshit "issues"... |
|
We wouldn't need a candidate who can withstand them.
I'm frankly sick of electing candidates based on their ability to better withstand attack-style politics, rather than their ability to solve problems that are killing Americans.
You should be too.
We should all be taking a stand and demanding substance from these so-called "journalists".

|
They wasted the first hour on useless, rehashed RW crap. I'm STILL waiting for questions on the unitary executive, the SCOTUS, the Patriot Act, investigation of the Bush administration, the telecomms and any number of issues that no one has asked about.
Anyone who thinks this was a useful and fair "debate", as opposed to tabloid "gotcha" journalism has become totally blinded by partisanship. If you approve of the same ol' biased media focusing on useless sleaze and slime issues, then you are part of the problem, not part of the solution, IMO.

What short memories you guys over there have. Lemme clue you in on something. THE AUDIENCE BOOED THE MODERATORS FOR A REASON. NOt because they are Obama supporters but because THEY ASKED STUPID QUESTIONS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ISSUES THAT AFFECT AMERICANS. YEah. stupid questions like Bosnia and Rev Wright. But hey..anything to make you feel validated.

Of course they will ask about lapel pin - with which I have no problem but, apparently, many voters do.
Asking about Iraq, immigration, health care? They don't differ much in their proposals and most voters' eyes would glaze over if they start getting into the details of their health care plans.
Most voters get fired up over the usual code words of abortion, gay marriage, guns, etc.
And since it was Obama who raised these issues first, they were fair topic.
