Who wants anchovy paste on their toast?
What a joke..

For MONTHS we have all been told that the primary races hinge on "bread & butter" issues...and yet in most of the debates I have seen, we seem to be seriously cheated on both.

First of all we should push for NO MORE DEBATES.

They are NOT debates anyway. They are staged Gotcha Sessions, built around the egos of the questioners.

When debates WERE important , was before we had the media saturation we currently have. Back then it was necessary to wrest some time away from the "Big Three", so that people in the less-visited areas could get to see the candidates. That's no longer a problem.. If anything, they are all seriously OVEREXPOSED.

What we need are TRUE town hall meetings where ordinary people get to ask questions..

How you get a fair cross-section of people would be the hardest problem to solve.

Perhaps a random lottery for tickets to attend..and no "plants" allowed..

If all interested people applied, and tickets were issued randomly by a computer, a fair cross-section could be achieved..

It could NEVER be worse than last night's debacle..or some of the previous ones..

2. I like this idea:

ABC: All Bad for Citizens
By Reed Hundt - April 17, 2008, 9:30AM

Whew! What a miserable night for Citizen Charles and Citizen George. These are not dumb fellows, and they didn't fail to prepare for the debate. Obviously, they worked hard to develop such intensively emotional, biased, hostile questions, and they were very focussed on avoiding the important issues that will shape the future of the republic for the next generation.

So what gives? What were their motives? What did their bosses give them for a purpose?
This is the central question for the mainstream media: why do good people provide such bad journalism from the perspective of the ideal electoral system?

Is it really true that ABC got and held a bigger audience by adopting such a crazy perspective on the debate?

Is it really true that Gibson and George S have improved their personal brands by doing the Fox dance?

Is it really true that Democratic candidates have to tolerate this sort of contumacious questioning? Why not just part company with ABC and empanel a group of thoughtful bloggers like Josh Marshall, Duncan Black (who lives in Philly!), and any number of others; plop HC and BO in front of them; turn on the cameras and liveblogvideo the whole thing?

like fish paste is tubes. i was offered some in a heavy dane iowa town.
the ONLY debate i actually tuned into was the NPR RADIO debate. it was a good one. from what i gather, they have devolved into complete drivel. i don't do drivel and america shouldn't let the gnews get away with drivel.

GNEWS OPEN SEASON NOW!
