after Dan Rather was kicked off CBS.
That was the last straw for me. The news networks no longer cared about the truth.

8. Don't watch any tv news - haven't for years. Going with the "youngsters" and
their internet/blog media. Many perspectives and spin, but then, you know that and can adjust accordingly.

The more the corporate media is cut out of the loop, the better off we all will be. There are no journalists anymore in corporate news.

Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 12:32 PM by crankychatter
You'd think after the successful propoganda from the MSM, helping the War on Iraq, and the diminution of liberty in America... they would have incurred more wrath from Democrats than they have

here we are citing them incessantly on DU

We need to get out of the bubble and point our neighbors toward reliable sources of news...

I do... not going to stop

If you wanted to measure how many viewers were affected by last night, you didn't do so.

Most political junkies don't watch network news, period.

17. I do not watch it. What surprises me is the surprise that people show.
Stephanopoulos is one of the wost Sunday Talk Show host (and that is a difficult position to hold, between Timmy, Bob Schieffer, and Leslie). The other ones may be biased, but he is simply inept. He is a
very conservative Democrat and very respectuous of the powers in place, as shown by his show last Sunday where he at several instances did not correct Hadley when he confused Tibet and Nepal.

In addition ABC has shown a RW bias for years, that we have seen during the 2004 presidential campaign and since.

So, what is surprising. The fight against TV is something that has to be in our mind constantly, and not only when it affects our candidate.

or cable news stations are fair and balanced. ABC is no different, or better, or worse than anyone else.

I will still watch...I usually watch ABC because that's the local affiliate I watch my local news on and it comes on right after (when I am home of course..I work nights).

47. Fuck, no. I don't trust MSM news much anymore.
For the most part, I get my news off of Reddit, DU, Kos, Huffington Post, Truthout, other Internet sources. Biased? Yeah, but there is no such thing as unbiased news anymore. They bring up the stories that the MSM won't touch, and any time someone tries to pass off bullshit as news, they get called out for it.

As far as what I watch on TV that resembles news, I'll watch Countdown with Keith Olbermann, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Funny how today's equivalent of the court jester actually gets closer to the truth than the "serious" news sources.

53. Easy answer for me
I haven't watched network news in ages. I think the last time I recall watching the ABC Nightly News, Barbara Walters was the news anchor (late 1970s?). I remember seeing Charlie Gibson a few times on ABC's Good Morning America many years ago (late 1980s?) and that the show was deadly boring, with endless commercial breaks about every three or four minutes and lots of personal interest fluff types of stories but little real news or useful information.
