Poll question: I'm unemployed.
I have no income.
I can't pay premiums.
I have no health insurance.
I have pre-existing conditions.

Whose health care plan will cover me?

(And by cover, I mean doctor's visits, prescriptions, hospital/surgery, etc.)

1. I think at this point in the game it's fair to ask "How will Obama's plan help me"
Hillary is irrelevant, and after PA that should be official.

2. Neither, because a snowball has a better chance in Hell than does either one..
of those plans' chances in Congress.

3. You're not gonna recognize either plan after Congress gets done with 'em.
Sorry... but let's be real here.

4. Yep.
But hopefully the weaksauce moderate Dems will know which side their bread is buttered for once and sign some progressive legislation.

I can't wait, honestly.

9. If the DLCers win, we can just kiss any chance of that goodbye.
If we show them once and for all who's boss... well then we have a chance. :)

11. All DLC'ers care about is power, they'll attach themselves to whoever offers them influence.
Which is what I'm worried about. I'm wondering who the next Lieberman or Zell Miller will be.

19. And THAT is the voice of sanity.
It's appalling to read the half-assed "health care" proposals of either one of them where they give away 75% of the store before they even start. That's why I stand up for HR676 100% and am adamant that the candidate should stand up for a health care proposal that's closest to what's DEMONSTRATED to work in every other industrialized nation on the planet! It's not like we have to invent the wheel ... the examples of health care systems that COVER ALL and COST LESS have been around for decades.

21. Yeah well they gotta convince the money men
that they're not too big a threat, or they'd have been torpedoed long ago. :)

5. Neither are addressing those who are uninsured and rely on alternative medicine to maintain
their health and pay out of pocket for it.

Granted this form of treatment will not heal skeletal fractures.

Mandated health care for western allopathic medicine of drugs and surgery exclusively will roast them and me entirely.

14. Huh?
Sorry, I am a little confused here. Are you talking about the fact that most insurance companies don't cover alternative remedies like herbal remedies?

6. Probaby Hillary's but maybe Obama's too.
That's because you would probably qualify for Medicaid under their plans. My understanding is that both these plans would expand Medicaid upward, income wise.

8. You may need another category - both (and add McCain)
Depending on the nature of your pre-existing condition, whether or not you have children and your age, you might fall under the auspices of Medicaid or Medicare, which all candidates roll into their plans to fluff up the numbers.

10. I don't think that either candidate's position is going to help you very much.
There is, however, one candidate who seems to be cozier with the insurance industry. I don't know that it's going to make much of a difference, but I'd tend to stay away from that one if I were you.

Best of luck, and I hope you're able to get the care you need.

12. Both would subsidize your purchase of health insurance. Neither would provide it.
One would require you to purchase it, one would not. Neither would provide it to you or prevent you from purchasing it.

15. A beefed up MediCaid included in both plans would likely be your option.
Though I think there are still small copays to be made.

20. They don't want us anymore.
Unless we have a shitload of cash. (They'll give it back eventually, without interest.)
