If Sen Obama can't handle Charlie Gibson . . .

I'm thinking of making up a card of all the canned responses from your camp.

6. He DID handle him well ... and revealed his shortcomings as a journalist
As so many reports are saying today, the biggest LOSER in last night's
debate was ABC NEWS. They're getting MAJOR negative reactions today;
Obama not so much.

7. Charlie Gibson is being "handled" as we speak.......
dont worry so much about Obama.

He doesn't want to kick Clinton ass because one, she's a Democrat and two, she a woman who likes to pull the victim card if she can use it.

All will be well for Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton will have to start back in the Senate and start working up good will that she's lost to date.

8. I thought Obama "handled" him fine
Obama stood tall and didn't attack Gibson even though Gibon was personally arguing with him at a few points in there.

He could use much better, more succinct answers in the future though on issues like gun control and capital gains taxes.

10. But Obama handled them fine
I thought he did a decent job last night. He's not the greatest debater, hasn't been this entire primary season. But he did just fine.

Many here our blowing this entire debate out of proportion. Both Obama and Clinton did fine despite the terrible format, questions and moderators.

I am more angry at the supporters here who are crying foul over ABC. You are right on one thing, it is going to get worse if Obama is the one that has to face the GOP. But I thought Obama did fine, and he should be able to do just fine against McCain and the GOP.

11. Here is why Obama didn't hit back hard against Clinton:
He needs her base to win in November, and he will likely be the nominee. He has the foresight, unlike Hillary, to see that pissing off your opponent's base is not the best way to win in November.

So basically, Hillary is a fucking moron.

13. I think he handled them amazingly. How did he not?
He's a stronger candidate today for it.

More SDs today. Up in polls.

You make no sense.
How did he not handle it.

Hillary was having a tough time - squirming...stuttering..."I said things that weren't the case..."
SHe admitted Obama will win and she is a liar.

Why didn't Hillary say he was unelectable...she wimped out. WIMPED!

is geared toward 35 and under, it was not that either one of them can't handle the Gop, it was the frame of the debate.

that if Charlie Gibson can't handle moderating a presidential debate, he certainly can't handle being the anchor of a nightly news cast.

If Democrats can't stand up for fairness against that yahoo, how are WE going to do when the smear machine comes after our candidate, no matter who it is.

26. He handled Gibson fine
It was obvious that they were trying to give it to Obama the best that they could. Moreover, the lines of questioning regarding flag pins, relationships with former 60's radicals, and how much people (Rev. Wright) love America are straight out of the GOP smear machine playbook.

The outrage is at the willful dumbing-down of the campaign by the media. Don't try to apologize for them by characterizing this fiasco as some kind of preview of dirty right-wing politics. That's not their job. It's Karl Rove's and Hillary's job to smear Obama as an America-hater and an effete elitist, it should be be the media's job to inform the public and encourage substantive debate.

28. Certainly You Jest
how funny, voters demand better of the media and the media & Hillary supporters cry foul! Those nasty Obama supporters want substance vs gossipy tabloid garbage. Whaahaaah

Then I hear on stupid Hardball Chuck Todd who I kinda respect, say that Obama didn't go after her, stayed above the fray, but made himself look bad in the process. Jesus Christ, the few times he has criticized her, he was accused of assaulting her. "Picking on a girl" comes to mind.

31. Ooooh, the big scary GOP smear machine - you mean the
one the Clintons handled so well? I say the Clintons, because Hillary Clinton loves to reflect on when her husband was president.

What do you think the GOP smear machine will do to Hillary Clinton? Think about it for a few minutes.
She admitted she had a lot of baggage last night.
