Does anyone have a still of Obama brushing 'dirt' off of his shoulder? I think we could use that in
here. After these weeks of crap from Hillary's campaign and politely responding to the wild stuff her supporters fling here, last night was just a final straw for me. I was ready to take off the gloves and not let any of these smears go unanswered here. I thought that since Obama is doing such a good job of taking the high road and trying to keep his campaign as positive as possible, we'd just do the dirty work here and on the ground for him.

After looking at what stays on the front of this page and what drops like a brick I am re-thinking that. I needed help a couple days ago with this: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5514689 and got so frustrated to watch it fall and fall fast. Meanwhile stupid stuff meant to stir up trouble stayed at the top. Today it seems even worse.

We've got to focus on what helps Obama's campaign. We are being baited, if you see that someone is posting inflammatory stuff, brush it off of your shoulder. If they leave something worse than that, do as Obama did and brush it off of your shoe and go on. As long as someone has posted the correct information in response, we should let it go.

Thanks, everyone.

In case you haven't seen it, I'm talking about Obama's response to the debate here:

19. Thanks for that, one of the comments under that says that geezers and near
geezers decide who wins what. That's one thing I love about this election; lots of 'whippersnappers' are getting involved. I've volunteered locally for 4 years now and we've been struggling and frustrated at the small numbers of young people who are interested in voting and doing things in the dem party. It has been a breath of fresh air to go to meetings lately and see so many teens and 20 somethings not only wanting to work but they seem very interested in what's going on.

11. CBS evening news ran the clip of him brushing dirt off.
That's a big time backfire on Clinton. I'ved in PA for 50 years and know that most people don't like negative politicking - they can smell it coming. Rendell beat Fisher partly because Fisher went negative on day 1.

13. You're right. Our focus should only be on the Presidency of Barack Obama and
how best to bring that about as quickly as possible. The rest is fluff.

17. Netvocates
IMHO, my VERY humble opinion, if we really want to get votes out for the Democrats in the general it won't be by proving people who claim to be supporters of the other candidate wrong regarding what is posted on DU. It will be by actively talking to our friends and neighbors and co-workers and every single solitary person we come in contact with, on the net, in life, in line at the grocery story. CONSTANTLY talk about how we really don't want another 4 years of Bush style economic and foreign relations policies.

Let them do all their squealing about Clenis, or Wright, or B.Hussein or whatever the hell distraction they want to yap about, and then ask them about the state of their house value, their wages, their retirement security - ask them if they really want to let the richest people in this country talk them into thinking more about the latest manufactured scandal than what really matters.

Hammer away every single damn day whether it's someone dissing Hillary or Barack or even the local Democrat.
