What people don't seem to understand is that last night's debate |
|
doesn't matter. Obama has already won this thing and only a complete disaster will ruin for him. Hillary's clinging to a dead dream and the press loves drama.
As I said with Wright-gate and Bitter-gate, it's all much ado about nothing. Obama is our next President.

2. Can you imagine the shockwaves |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 07:50 PM by reflection
through both the country and the world if/when he defeats McCain? I personally think it could be one of America's shining moments, a complete repudiation of the last 8 years, with a dismissal of the inherent racism in our presidential politics thrown in for good measure.
Were Hillary to somehow win (I can't imagine how, but that doesn't mean it's not possible), a similar effect would occur. You can argue about how she won and all that, but the fact that we would have a female president would also be phenomenal for our standing in the eyes of the world. The arguing would die down as soon as her cabinet was selected and her policies started to be installed.
For the first time, we are tantalizingly close to this seismic shift. I for one would like to see it happen, one way or the other. I believe either result would bridge the current trust gap between us and the rest of the world.
It's gonna be a hell of a party or a hell of a hangover.

3. Get ready for the HRC talking points for the day... |
|
"So you don't think the rest of the Democrats should have a chance to vote? You don't seem to believe in Democracy. In fact, you don't sound like a real Democrat."
This is what I'm hearing the HilLIARy people saying today whenever they are told their 'girl' can't win... and has in fact already lost. It gets boring.

6. HA. I'd counter with the simple fact that |
|
in a primary, few people actually get to vote before the nominee is decided. Just look at the Republican side for that. Has everyone voted for McCain? Or 2004, when Kerry locked up the nomination pretty quickly after the MSM attack on Dean.
I lived in Hawaii for most of my life and our vote rarely counted in the primary OR the general. Were we disenfranchised?
All of us, both Hillary and Obama supporters, have to realize that this is how the system works. I know that some will be sorely disappointed that their candidate didn't prevail, but REAL Democrats suck it up and move forward.

4. The only notable thing I heard was when Hillary went so far right with her war with Iran remark.... |
|
that I think she went past Bush on her way. No wonder she voted for the Iran resolution. If this isn't an extreme right position, I don't know what is.
Why are we the ones to have to go to war for other countries? I don't get it. It isn't like we just got out of WW2 and want to backup all those countries involved with that one. So what gives with the "world police" stance? Who gave us the right to do this?

5. You accuse her of "clinging"? That means you're an elitist, a hater of women, and ... |
|
... wait for it ... a gang-rapist.
