The stupidity reaches new heights.
I just saw an attempt to stir outrage that Obama had given Hillary the finger by scratching his face. I'm still trying to cope with my disbelief that anyone actually tried to pull this... let alone that some people apparently swallowed it hook line and sinker.

Let's just leave aside the CBS news feed ( http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=4025010n ) that clearly shows him scratching his cheek with his middle AND INDEX finger extended at the same time, which is not under any definition of the phrase... "the finger"... even if he HAD scratched his cheek with only his middle finger, he was in a town hall meeting where Clinton was not present. Anyone is seriously going to try to argue that a man clearly rubbing his face is flipping off someone who isn't even in the building?

Grow up children.

1. I hate to break it to you...
but this little kerfluffle (finger-gate?) is a mere pit stop on the Everest of stupidity that I expect to see as Hillary's demise sinks in with her little cult...:scared:

19. Birdie-gate, obviously.
We may as well get the terminology straight, even while facts are left by the wayside.

note - in case anyone hasn't seen the clips or is familiar with the protocols - two fingers are used, and the whole brief fiasco is little more than a humorous episode here.

Either way you slice it, your point depresses me a little bit. I can't believe that I didn't see more sarcasm smilies in any of these posts.

20. It may not be racist
but Hillary supporters sure love to pretend that Hillary is some kind of virginal queen above all this nastiness (when it suits them) while Obama is somekind of rampaging ogre for daring to criticize Hillary..

16. Yep - I wondered when this election was going to become
a symposium on the racist nature of the United States of America.

It didn't take as long as I thought it would...but I live in denial about lots of things.

I am very very sad at the tack this is taking.

Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 01:25 AM by Arrowhead2k1
Because I know they'll expose it fully for what it is. Yet another petty desperate distraction.
Americans aren't stupid enough to fall for this in numbers. I mean if they were, Hillary would have wrapped up this nomination a long time ago.

A good test is the FCC test.

If this was an obscene gesture several things would happen

#1 The person running the censor board would be fired.

#2 CBS and ANY network showing the speech without the censor (None censored) would be fined.

#3 The networks still have not censored any footage.

I emulated the position of his hand over and over and over and without a shadow of a doubt it was clean. There was no obscene gesture.

The clip passes the FCC test. Obama did nothing wrong.

18. Pretty sure the FCC is prohibited from censoring political candidates.
If the candidates want to F-bomb each other continuously throughout a debate, the FCC can't stop them or punish stations for broadcasting it.

21. I just watched the video for the first time.
You're lying, of course. His index finger never touched his face. Only the middle finger. Was it intentional? Maybe no, maybe so. I don't care. What I do find interesting is the Obots who flat-out look at one thing and see something else altogether.

It's downright amazing.
