An honest question, with no ill will, from an Obama supporter to HRC backers |
|
I'm not trying to start anything here, so please no flaming or arguing. Just a simple question.
IF (and this is a very VERY big IF) Barack Obama defeats Hillary Clinton in PA, will you admit that she has lost the nomination? I'm not asking if you'll like it or if you'll support BHO, just that IF he wins, will you admit that Hillary can't win the nomination?
I'm honestly just curious.

I think it's pretty obvious to everyone that she has to win in PA.

6. I'll leave that up to her. |

Honestly, Obama has lost me. I won't vote for him. I will vote straight ticket Democrat, so he will still get my vote, but I will not cast a vote for him (I'm just answering your question of what I'd do, I no longer care whether Obama supporters "get it" or not). So if Clinton stays in the race, I'll back her. If she manages to pry the supers to her side, I'll back that. At this point, if she gets Obama disqualified by some technicality (as Obama has done to win elections), I'll back that. I don't like the man, and will never support him. I will support the party, though, because I couldn't vote for a Republican after Iraq.
That's my answer, not meant to start an argument, just to respond to what you asked.
If she chooses to stay in, the rest of the states holding primaries will be thrilled, since an active presidential primary draws more voters for the down-ballot issues.

8. I've already conceded it |

I understand mathematical reality and Hillary needed re-votes in Florida and Michigan. Once that hope faded it was like a 12 team parlay, many of them less than 50/50 likelihood in terms of independent variables, and you're sunk at that point.
That being said, Obama annoys me more with each passing day of the campaign and it's difficult to deny that or conceal it. I like to quantify things, which is impossible in this case, so it's damn frustrating. Whenever I watch him lean into a mike and adopt the mocking tone while trying to make a point to an audience I can't believe we've rejected the likes of Edwards and Biden and Hillary in favor of such untested arrogance. The flipping motion on his right shoulder today was another example. Others sense the same thing, like a post above in this thread.
I started out liking Obama, albeit skeptical of him as a sudden riser with a thin resume. Now I'll merely vote for him, and hope to be wrong about his personality and caliber.
D vs. R is not a debate. I've never voted R in any race, no matter the level, and go out of my way to research the non-partisan races to identify who is D and who is R. But as someone who moved to Las Vegas in the mid '80s I naturally adopt decisive opinions, one way or another, and sorry but Obama is not high on my list.
