I find his persona dismissive. That's easy. I don't like how he lifts up his chin, doesn't make eye contact, etc. I can't find a link to prove that. I don't like a few things about Hillary's persona either - how she grins and points at someone everytime she gets on stage, for example - but it doesn't bother me as much as the no eye contact thing. I also didn't like the statements Oprah made on his behalf, which I thought were incredibly patronizing ("I'm not telling you how to think - I'm asking you TO think"!) This was while Edwards was still in the race, and I thought her remarks were boorish and condescending, and he never said a word about the implication that Oprah made that people who didn't support Obama weren't thinking (I know you will consider that a stretch - I'm saying that it's one of many little pinpricks that turned me off).

I was originally an Edwards person, BTW (and had problems with his persona also - for example, even though it's not fair, I don't like his accent). It's not just about Hillary. Part of it is about public schools, and her pledge to get rid of NCLB. I also like her health care plan better and I don't like the charge Obama made that she is "garnishing wages" to cover everyone. I don't like that Obama thinks it's okay to give money to charter schools. I don't like that when he came to Seattle, he couldn't make time for a news interview with the main news station. I think that his statements about lobbyists are disingenuous, considering that Daschle is actively working on his campaign and Daschle's wife is a well-known big time lobbyist and Daschle himself is considered a de facto one.

As far as age goes, the most moving thing I saw at the Clinton rally I attended were the high school girls holding signs they'd made themselves. Did they get on the air? Of course not. Apparently the media has decided that Obama is the only candidate who can inspire. Well, that's fine, but I assure you, my decision is well thought out. If I have to vote for Obama, I will, but in the first place, even though his personality bothers me, I don't HATE him, and secondly, I just like Hillary's policies better.
