CBS News just did a piece on the "Screw 'em" White people Hillary Comments |
|
Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 06:10 AM by FrenchieCat
on the news. Said that she might have some explaining to do.
They focused on the hypocritical aspect of her riding Obama hard on his Bitter comment.

5. It's called hypocrisy. Plus, she can hardly whine about it since |
|
Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 06:23 AM by Skwmom
she is the one who engaged is such petty, misleading, distracting behavior. Oh wait, she's played the victim for months now. Gergen and the panel laughed last night about how the Clintons (the biggest whiners of the primary) complained about Obama whining. It's pretty bad when a panel bursts out laughing at you.
Hey Bill, stop your whining. It's really unbecoming to a former president.

49. Hillary's habit of insulting Americans she doesn't need (or even the ones she does need)... |
|
...is an important issue.
She has already alienated many voters. She cannot be a leader of a country if she can't learn to stop insulting its citizens.

Like a snowball rolling down a hill. The snowball will grow until Clinton apologizes and breaks it apart.
She has a small change to surprise the media. She will have to act within 12 or so hours in my view.

"I'm sorry I was wrong"
And this is done Clinton. There is NO need to turn this into bittergate lite.

From what I saw in earlier topics it seemed like Clinton was preparing to deny this.
And that will only set things up for a scandal going into PA.
Just apologize Clinton!

19. But I hate this, because it just reinforces the Republicans' |
|
(and the media's) narrative that Dems in general are elite snobs who look down their noses as working class whites. Sure, it's about Hillary, but once again a Clinton's unfortunate choices have given the Republicans a nasty broad brush to smear the Democrats with. At least it is coming out now, so it can maybe lose a leg or two before the general election. But damn, I wish the CLinton's would think before they blather!

and up front I want to say that I do believe the hypocrisy is astounding. That said I listened to an interesting interview about the 'screw 'em' comment the other day. Apparently this was Hillary at her finest who probably many of us would admire (oh I wish she were still around). Basically she was keen to push through progressive agenda and the objections that were raised were regarding the Regan Democrats who wouldn't like 'socialized' medicine etc. That is the context in which she said screw 'em, and to be honest I would have said the same.
Having said that, she attacked Obama on his comments knowing that they didn't mean what she tried to say they did, and to justify it on the basis of 'the Republicans will bring this up' is just ridiculous. Regardless, its over now. Thank god!!!
