17. This is a GREAT Krugman piece. Not a hit piece at all
What Krugman does here is look at some socio-economic facts.points out obama's data is questionable.
And hopes that Obama will stop trashing the Clinton economy and the effec it had on small town mid-western America.

Did you READ it?
he says the data actually discount frank's very appealing theory about "Kansas". It's interesting stuff. It is not a hit piece.

3. Krugman has not been in the Obama camp since the git-go and Brooks
can barely be said to be a reliable gauge of Democratric sentiment.

Obama's numbers are rising in national polling. The percentage of people who read the NYTIMES op-ed page have generally made up their minds.

I personally feel both these writers are talented, intelligent people who nevertheless are mistaken about who will be / should be our next president.

8. not surprising
Brooks is right-wing and Krugman supports Hillary.

Personally, I'm waiting to see what Frank Rich has to say about the debates. He's a great editorialist but he used to be a theater critic and that ABC thang was some of the worst theater I've seen in years.

Don't care for Brooks but he's made a point that the golden halo has tilted on BO.

12. I just think that Krugman and Brooks have the same goal, getting Hillary nominated....
but for different purposes. Brooks doesn't want McCain to go contrast against Obama, because then Obama is the outsider change agent, and McCain has to settle for the War guy but establishment status quo. If McCain can get Hillary, then McCain becomes the Maverick and Hillary is status quo.

Krugman is just a lot more conservative than he lets on.

14. Brooks. Wasn't he a hero to Obamites a while ago?
Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 07:33 AM by jackson_dem
We told you all the MSM love affair with Obama would not last. Some rethugs have concluded Obama is the presumptive nominee and they are starting to go after him. The notion that Obama would walk without any opposition to the presidency was one of the biggest campaign fairy tales of the year. The MSM and rethugs only loved Obama so he could win the nomination--and then get destroyed...

The imperial underpuppy
And who cares which dem Brooks piles on.
Krugman usually has intelligent things to say. opinions backed by knowledge. Not that he's an oracle .

Edit: just read the Brooks. Better than usual. But still Brooks. off to read krugman
