9. The Neocons wear them like the Nazi SS wore swastika armbands |
|
That, in conjunction with the country now having a Dept of "HOMELAND" (Fatherland) Security, turns me off to blatant phony displays of patriotism. I notice that most of the wearers of the flag pin NEVER served a day of service in the military. Take notice of who wears them, especially on cable news programs. Mostly wimps.

on his cowboy boots and probably on his tighty whities too. Yeah, its ridiculous that Obama is held to the flag pin standard- I guess its because he wasn't tortured and he's not a woman.

Why did you have to take my imagination to Georgie's underpants.
Sweet Jesus - I'm taking my flag pin off my lapel right now.
Stabbing out my mind's eye with it.
Yuck!

that a group of patriotic zealots will set upon me, pummel my senior citizen body, and take from me this most precious made in China bauble.
edited to explain that I meant 'set upon' as in 'attack me fiercely'

I choose to express my patriotism by slathering my body with oil and rolling around in red white and blue glitter whilst singing along to Wayne Newton's timeless rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

apparently its required jewelrey to prove that one is patriotic. Obama was asked about it in the so-called "debate".

to stick to things made in America-it's getting harder and harder to do. Repukes have wrapped themselves in flags for as long as I can remember. I keep wishing one of them would trip or stick themselves or something.
I fly my peace flag proudly.
