I was just thinking... Won't it be cool to have a real President again? |
|
One that won't embarrass us on a simple intellectual level every time he (or she) opens his (or her) mouth? Who won't make us slap our foreheads in frustration over his (or her) many linguistic blunders? Who doesn't balk like a high schooler caught with his hands in his best friend's mom's underwear drawer when asked out the blunders of his foreign policy?
We've been living with an assclown for President for eight long years. And soon, he will be gone. It's been a LONG time in coming. Granted, John McCain will be a scary replacement. But Bush.... Cheney.... Condoleeza... they will all soon be GONE! Aaaahhhhhhh.......... sweet relief.

6. I think this country will going through a major psychological period of shock. |

Similar to when a person long held in captivity is finally released. They'll be grateful but won't know what to do with themselves.

Obama and Clinton would both do the job.
McCain? Not so much.

that I'd be in tears during Obama's inauguration.

9. Gosh... we haven't had one of those since 1996. |

This current generation of teenagers don't know a Presidential election without controversy. That's really scary. We're raising cynics.

I'm going to be very disappointed if Hillary doesn't get the nomination and the White House, but the thought of Bush and his gangsters being out of Washington is surreal. It can't come soon enough!!
Here's to a Democratic President!!

other night while watching "john adams". how wonderful it will be to hear actual, literate english again, and not have to cringe every time the person speaks.
oh, and actually having a real president--as in one whose election was not stolen, or handed over by a partisan supreme court, or election fraud.

14. I think we can only say that about Obama or Clinton |
|
"But Bush.... Cheney.... Condoleeza... they will all soon be GONE! Aaaahhhhhhh.......... sweet relief."
If McCain wins in Nov, then many of the same people will be working in his adminsitration or behind the scenes to bring about PNAC goals.
Otherwise, I agree that with either of the 2 Dems running we will have a much better representative in the White House. They may both be too conservative for me, but they are both intellligent, highly educated, thoughful individuals who will do 1000X better than the repubs of the last 40 years. I just wish more people here agreed with that.

16. BlooInBloo, that does not represent most of the people I've talked with. |
|
Most of them will vote for Obama also in the General Election, they just feel that Hillary would be a better choice initially.
I only ran into one white woman who said she would vote for McCain if Clinton didn't get the nod. I didn't question her any further on her reasoning. The time and place was not appropriate for that kind of question.
It was a large group and I only did a small sampling during dinner.
Cordially,

We have been eight years without a leader. No wonder things seem weird.
