Obama Hamas Ties Pushed In McCain Letter: So Much For "Respectful" Campaign
my byline: Clinton fires senior staffers for not thinking about it first.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/18/mccain-hamas-endorsement_n_97469.html

from the campaign fundraising letter...

Barack Obama's foreign policy plans have even won him praise from Hamas leaders. Ahmed Yousef, chief political adviser to the Hamas Prime Minister said, "We like Mr. Obama and we hope he will win the election. He has a vision to change America."

We need change in America, but not the kind of change that wins kind words from Hamas, surrenders in Iraq and will hold unconditional talks with Iranian President Ahmadinejad.

Strap in folks, this will get bloody and my hatchet is sharp.

1. McStain wants to run against Hillary
That's why he's ordered his staff to lay off Hillary and go heavily negative on Obama.

2. "surrenders in Iraq"
Oh, I see. We illegally invade a country and rather than say "sorry, we won't do that any more" it is now "surrendering"?

I think I hate them.

Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 04:47 PM by ErinBerin84
I don't think anyone is under the impression that he won't (try to) shred Obama, despite what McCain has said . The question is what kind of results he will have.

29. thank you for the compliment. i try to be fair. my emotions do get the best of me sometimes, but
I always try to temper them with reason.

I think Barack is fantastic, BUT I think he needed more time to prepare for the run. He needed to seperate himself more from Wright, Ayers and Rezko as well as needing a thicker resume.

Policywise, Barack and Hillary are two peas in a pod. Near photocopies of one another.

The difference for me is that the GE really really worries me with him as the nominee.

With Hillary, I know what the smears are gonna be, I know that they have been raked over the coals for 20 years and that everyone in the country knows the facts or close to the facts of all of them and dont really care anymore (or, at least, the irate outrage is pretty much gone.) I also know that the Clinton machine could easily handle all of them.

With Barack, I know all the smears cause I pay attention closely. I also know that the VAST majority of Americans know very little about Obama and his issues and they have not done too great a job really handling this stuff. The jabs at the debate prove that. He failed to stand up to them properly and they were still kid stuff compared to what is coming.

Even most of the people voting for him right now know very little about this stuff because Hillary cant really come out and attack him. All they know is that he is a great speaker and an inspirational guy... a hope and change guy that speaks to their higher ideals.

The game will change radically when it is the GOP that is attacking and the GOP doesnt give a shit what the NYT, NBC, ABC, or CNN says about them. The GOP will guarantee that every single American knows all of Obama's dirt and they will make sure to show it in the least favorable light possible.

And the problem is that Obama's dirt is not just a hubby getting a BJ in a hall or a shady investment decades ago, it is stuff that is tied to terrorists, racists, muslim radicals and is "anti-american"... And it's got video and audio... really really damning video & audio and, lest I forget, ON FRIGGIN TRIAL RIGHT NOW!!!

Out of all the candidate options we had, besides Gravel, was the worst one we could pick at this point in time for these reasons. I would have supported and felt totally at ease if it had been anyone but Obama (and Gravel of course... maybe add Kucinich to that list too lol.)

Hillary cares about the issues I care about, she has fought for them for a long time, she has a proven track record of results... and i KNOW, 100%, without any uncertainty, KNOW that she will win.

I don't KNOW that about Obama. I just don't.

That is my take on the subject, respect it or don't. I am not changing. And, you know what, the more I get flamed and disrespected by Obama supporters, the less likely I am to vote for Obama even if he is the nominee.

14. McCain is far from a saint. How will the robots feel when they know
he fooled around with Cindy while married to the wife who waited years on end for him to come home? Think they'll like his current stand on veterans' benefits? If we had a candidate we could go after the geezer, but we don't and we can't.

24. But does that matter
in the eyes of JESUS?? Maybe the masses will wake up when they find out McBush wants to take their employer's health insurance deduction away, which would mean they'd be in the $12,000+ a year line to buy inferior policies (providing they have no pre-existing conditions, in which case they're toast).

19. John McCain knows nothing of the outside world
McCain thinks that Hamas likes Obama because Obama is weak and will be easy for the terrorists to take down. Sorry, John. Hamas is supportive of Obama because he's not a neocon who is interested in invading their countries and killing hundreds of thousands of their citizens. This guy is McDeranged.

30. Obama is quite able to handle McCain
He has been quite able to handle HRC - whether you like it or not, he is still winning.

Much as Democrats seem to quiver in fear about the right-wing attack machine, it's just like the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain. Better analogy is a snake. Obama's method of defanging it can work, rather than pretending it's not happening or running away or trying to bite back. He knows what's coming. He plays to win. McCain is not a historically strong candidate. McCain has the war record and some bills, but he won a very easy campaign without getting into any tough stuff himself. The more he speaks on issues, the worse he is - that's why the campaign is built around photos of him with a flag. And if he tries to play really dirty, he feels and looks guilty - like Bob Dole, unlike W. In terms of skills, Hillary or Barack can take him to school.
