If you don't want me, Hillary, I don't want you!
Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 07:18 PM by last1standing
"Moveon.org endorsed (Sen. Barack Obama) -- which is like a gusher of money that never seems to slow down," Clinton said to a meeting of donors. "We have been less successful in caucuses because it brings out the activist base of the Democratic Party. MoveOn didn't even want us to go into Afghanistan. I mean, that's what we're dealing with. And you know they turn out in great numbers. And they are very driven by their view of our positions, and it's primarily national security and foreign policy that drives them. I don't agree with them. They know I don't agree with them. So they flood into these caucuses and dominate them and really intimidate people who actually show up to support me." -Hillary Clinton

All I can say to any Clinton supporter is that if you agree with Hillary that it is the base of Democratic activists who are the problem then you have no place on a forum dedicated to Democratic activism.

1. Wow, she said, "they didn't EVEN want us to go into Afghanistan?"
Which means that Afghanistan is a given, but that she's also in favor of having gone into Iraq. She's digging herself into a hole SO DEEP.

2. Exactly. It proves that she has never regretted her vote to kill 4000 soldiers.
Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis.

So while all the Clintonites scream about "bittergate" their queen is talking about how annoying all those activists who don't support killing innocents are.

20. Let's also remember that there are over 30,000 American military casualties in addition
to the 4,000 deaths.

7. And it's a lie anyway.
Moveon didn't oppose the action in Afghanistan.

They did oppose the invasion on Iraq.

3. "We welcome Democrats of all stripes,
along with other progressives who will work with us to achieve our shared goals."

"2. Who We Are: Democratic Underground is an online community for Democrats and other progressives. Members are expected to be generally supportive of progressive ideals, and to support Democratic candidates for political office."

Perhaps if you feel that some people have no place here because they do not agree with you, you should discuss it with the admins and ask them to change their mission.

All I can say to anyone that agrees with your sentiment is that you have no place on a forum dedicated to being inclusive of all members of the Democratic Party.

13. I'd agree with you there...but
why is Hillary not being inclusive with the Democratic Party?

16. Because she is running against another democrat for the nomination.
Not a particularly enviable position for either of them. If you look at the various "scandals" (Wright, Ferraro, bitter, Move on), it's all about who is included and who might feel excluded.

I think the Democratic party is the party of inclusion. However, when you are running against another democrat, you have to define who in the party are most likely to support you and who are "expendable" to some degree. I think they both have done this.

I look forward to becoming inclusive again and believe that if these two would join hands we would present an unbeatable force.

Sorry, I know it's not the PC thing to say.

And now the cat's out the bag: Hillary disagrees with the left on national security issues. Do we really need to know anymore??

Hillary doesn't like grassroots because...

...she hardly has any!

The Superdelegates really need to look at this...she is essentially saying that grassroots supporters don't matter. That's even worse than endorsing McCain!
